Yes and no. In a Marxist state everybody gets an equal shake. Luxury goods, assuming any are available, are equally distributed. It mixes fine with luxury goods if they are in good enough supply. Or at least, that's the theory.

This discussion isn't ideological. It's selfish. And this is as it should be in the luxury goods sector.

Some people who don't have something they want think that someone who has one, let alone more than one, has somehow stolen theirs or unfairly rigged the situation. People who can afford one or more and/or have been fortunate, go onto the defensive when confronted with such silly logic.

"You've got things I haven't and it's not fair".

If some people (present thread company accepted - I'm generalising) put half as much effort into realising their aspirations as they do into typing, concocting conspiracy theories and whinging, they might be surprised at what can be achieved. Might.

Same old.......

Poor Form

While there is still the opportunity, this, too, should be said.

You have called out a specific member of the watch community for criticism and judgement for what he chooses to do with his property. Contrary to your claim, labeling someone's behavior as ‘hoarding” is passing judgement on what others do with their property. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that the timing of your post is coincidental and unfortunate, and that you are not kicking a man while he is down. In any case, it was poor form and undignified to single out one man in a large community for criticism and judgement, rather than addressing the issue at a higher level of abstraction.

Don't know and don't care.

I cannot control what other people do or do not do.

I haven’t seen this much harrumphing outside of a Victorian novel. This thread delivers, by Jove!

The sad thing is hoarders don't even realize they hoard. Collecting is a hobby, hoarding is an illness. At least that's what they say on A&E.
