Facebook watch groups prime for scamming
I am sure I am not the only one to have this happening.
I am receiving more frequent calls than ever, from guys asking if I am this guy selling a particular watch. It appears facebook selling platforms are using my name and SIMILAR, NOT SAME, details to lure victims. I am always happy to speak on my only phone number to assure you if it is me, or you are being set up for a scam. I DO NOT SELL ON A WEBSITE, OR FACEBOOK SELLING SITE. Be safe, Brian |

I have a couple things on there and im getting the typical scammer replies from people with bogus pages. Its so obvious when you get a response from a good looking woman, click on her page and every post are pictures that look they came from the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and every friend of hers are middle aged men from around the world. Not a single woman friend.
And then, when you strike up a deal, the name on the wire is completely different than that on the Facebook page. Major red flags.

A recent update, and mentioning that the calls and notices continue.
Received a phone call from a veteran watch dealer yesterday that he sent me money and why I wasn't returning emails. It seems that the Facebook watch group "MODA WATCH" is the location of frequent scammers. I sent a dm/pm to this guy Vadim several weeks ago to discuss the fraud taking place. He didn't bother taking the time responding. For anyone doing their due diligence before sending money to anyone associated with that FB group, I have no presence there whatsoever, and I don't "partner" with anyone there either. Be safe! |

Good heads up Brian.
I’d add all online untraditional storefront transactions with Rolexeses are prime for scamming. Careful out there people. |

Is it even safe to purchase luxury watches via grey market? or seems AD is more preferred?

Scams are on the increase all over the world, in all types of media and ever-increasing sophistication.
You cannot be too careful out there !!

Yes - I see you’re relatively new to TRF and may not know about the trusted boutique sellers here. They are safe. But you also need to be sure you don’t fall for spoofing outside TRF. Like the scam Brian (briboxer) is alerting us about. For example, Tony, Patrick, DavidSW and others have trusted selling boutique listings in TRF classified section. But someone chooses to pose as one of them on CL, FB, IG, etc - and steals their photos. The listing looks right since it was stolen - the phone number may be a digit off, or the email addy deceptively similar. You need to contact the seller directly using the valid phone numbers you see here in the boutiques. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
