Daytons Dial

Does anyone know what all of the small inner dials (gages) are on the Daytona and does anyone with this watch use them?

4030 (Zenith) movement:
- 3 o'clock: 30 Minute timer
- 6 o'clock: 12-hour timer
- 9 o'clock: Seconds for the main time

4130 movement:
- 3 o'clock: 30 Minute timer
- 6 o'clock: Seconds for the main time
- 9 o'clock: 12-hour timer

I use the subdials all the time when cooking to time things.

Yeah, there are three (3) super small subdials... but who really knows what they do. I think one of them is the seconds counter. Others are for the stopwatch function.

The stopwatch is super important for mission critical tasks such as: boiling eggs, cooking pasta to al dente perfection, grilling steaks, and knowing how much time I spent waiting in line at the super market. Is it weird that all of these are food related?

Well here's one that dont, the Daytona must be one of the most overhyped Rolex watches ever. Yes it has a fine movement and now crazy prices and hard to get, perhaps thats the main lure with the Daytona today. As like most Rolex in this modern day age just little more than now $$$£££€€€ object things to many.

The subdials are programmable right? I want to be able to set one for the level of milk in my fridge so I don't run out... and I need to set another for my tire pressure, so I know if they are low.... the third, I haven't decided yet. I can't find how to do it online... can someone tell me?

lol no one really uses the chronograph function on these, purely hype. Don't get me started on those screw down pushers. PITA they are.

Its a shame people feel this way. Hyped, maybe, over hyped, not sure. All I know is I have used chronographs for 40 years in advertising production and Daytona was and is the finest watch I had, both accurate and easy to use. Hard to get is nothing new, as long as I've been wearing Rolex watches, Daytona has always been hard to get.

Great tool watch!!!

Well it's a racing watch. The sub dials show MPH, RPM, and remaining fuel.

Yes, i used them as part of my job and found the subdials could not be read precisely due to lacking enough hash marks and so got rid of it. I used my speedy. I am one of the few here that was actually bothered because I actually use my watches as tools and gasp...not my phone.

Well now I know I don't have to bother centering those little hands next time I service a Daytona, nobody even uses them!
