Agreed... makes no sense. Yes sometimes AP has a kinda JV with a well known retailer for AP branded boutiques like arije which I came across when traveling in Europe and you couldn't tell the difference.

But for AP Houses? By the way, must say I am still scratching my head around the "AP House" concept. Listened to the FHB pitch and it felt like he was trying to turn the AP shops into an "experience" where to hang around with friends, organize corporate events (seriously?). I guess it does make a bit of sense given you can't buy anything anymore from an AP boutique as they don't have any watches to sell. But why in the world would they externalize the operations of these new flagships as their whole strategy for the last 5 years was all about insourcing distribution, feels improvised or amateurish to say the least.

I have done a lot of business with Material Good over the years and they have always been excellent. From my own experience I strongly recommend them.

At the start of our relationship I was certainly not a big spender.

It also turns out that the new-ish AP Boutique in Boston is co-owned and managed by MG. Even more surprising, or not, is that the Boston Richard Mille boutique is also an MG co-venture. Perhaps it makes sense that neither AP nor RM would normally bother initiating boutiques in the relatively smaller Boston market, but MGs co-venture pitch and management was a reasonable business move.
