Recommendation for AP SA in Singapore

Hi guys, apologies in advance if this is a silly question. I wanted to see if anyone has a recommendation for a good SA in AP Singapore? I would also welcome the opportunity if a kind soul would like to introduce your SA.

A little backstory, to mark a promotion in my career, I bought my first AP (41mm ROC gold) in 2020 and another shortly after for my wife (38mm ROC steel) for peace-offering. I reckon that these two models are difficult to get now, but they were still relatively obtainable last year, so I am grateful for that. I was also fortunate to meet an excellent SA who was very helpful.

We love our AP timepieces a lot and would like to focus our collections on AP. Unfortunately, we found out that our SA just resigned (we wish him nothing but the best) and were informed that a new SA would be assigned. I feel it is important to develop a relationship with a good SA, so I wonder if I should be proactive to approach a good SA (this is our preference) or accept what AP would assign to us?

SAs can always leave and seek new opportunities. Ultimately watch collecting these days is a money game, especially for an area like Singapore the demand is bordering insanity. I think regardless of whichever SA attends to you, you will still need to buy a piece from him/her for them to warm to you and offer you the pieces you are after. The advantage for you is that you already have 2 AP bought from a particular boutique and they might have your details and purchase history to further support your future purchases.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. That makes sense. The risk of having a trusted SA leave and having to build a relationship with a new one is always there. We had discussions abt our potential future acquisitions with our ex-SA. The route I'm taking is to first buy less popular timepieces (which we love nevertheless) in the hope of acquiring hard-to-get timepieces later on (hopefully not in too distant future). But now that he's left, I feel like I need to start all over again with a new SA, but I do hope that our recent 2 acquisitions would help make our case to a certain extent. In any case I'm still new in this game, but am learning & enjoying the journey thus far!

Same case here, Justin?

Yes that's right. We are in the same boat. Too bad he left. Our experience with him was really good!

@OP - You can try Theresa. She's the Assistant Boutique Manager at Liat. Or Iylia at MBS. Actually, irregardless if ur SA has resigned or not, your buying record is still there so I dont see why they should treat you differently with a new SA.

Yes, unfortunately he left, he was good and really knowledgeable.

The new SA that replaced him (for me) was Wan, met her few days ago to collect a watch, seemed really nice and friendly too.

Tbh, havent really met any one unfriendly at the Liat boutique.

Did meet a snob woman at MBS 3-4 years back? but that was also before AP started to reduce allocations to ADs (if still any). Ever since their marketing/sales approach went to more of boutique rather than ADs, feels like all/most SA, at least on the external appearance, really do make an effort to connect with you (haha of course whether you'll get your desired time piece is a totally diff story).

Met Bindy at MBS after the CB 1, couldn’t have been years. Didn’t know she’s leaving/left.

Congrats on your new watch! I heard allocation for this year is pretty tight, so good for you!

My main criterion when buying a watch is it has to "speak" to me (or my wife if it's for her). Granted, some of my wish-list are ambitious, but I'm trying to play the long-game. And I feel that having an SA that connects well with us makes the journey all the more enjoyable.

benlee: Thanks a lot for your suggestions. As a matter of fact, I bumped into Iylia a few times. Very friendly and approachable. Not sure if he remembers me, though. I will reach out to him, and hopefully, we can hit it off! Btw, you must get this a lot, but great collections you have!

Oh Justin resigned? I bought my 15450 grey from him in 2019 and he said he will try to get me a Roc this year.
