OK, so someone aged the bezel on the new BB58NB

And IMO that looks fantastic. While I have some ceramic bezel watches, I love how aluminium inserts can age (forced in this case, but I have seen this done for vintage models missing and insert). Taken from Instagram:

One the things that I considered to be the "cherry on top" with this watch was the Aluminium bezel insert. Like you, I love how they can age and this feature on the BB58 got me very excited.

I'm not sure how much sun exposure it would need, considering I live in England, over what amount of time if done naturally. However, it's cool to think that there is this process going on over the years.

Thumbs up from me for the look

I think it looks good. I don't know if I would do that to a watch I own but OK.

About as attractive as artificially aged jeans. Faded bezel don’t mean a thing if it the anodization was simply bleached.

Go real or go home!

On one end people hate fake patina and throw a fit when a brand releases a watch with artificial patina and then on the other hand people love fake patina and it’s the coolest thing on earth.
Guess all it takes is an Instagram post to make it cool or John Mayer.

In my opinion, that watch was ruined, no way I’d pay for that nor do I think it looks good. I’d prefer a brand new crispy blue watch that I can make my own.

Thank you for reposting...I saw this on IG a few days ago and loved it, but couldn't find it again!

Great to know how well the old girl will age.

Isn't it nicer to let it age naturally? This is like cheating.

Tie it to the back of the car and just drive down the road, that will age it.
Or just buy vintage in the first place.

I like the new Bond Omega with fauxtina. That’s well done.

Can’t say that I hate this one!

Look, I wouldn't do this to my one, but if the insert fades like this over time I would not mind

Is it cheating? Yes.

Is it a bit controversial (in the WIS world)? Yes.

Does it look awesome? Yes.

I'd take this over the mass marketed fauxtina/caramel coloured dial features every time

OK this is a very stupid question, but is that just an edited photo or did they bake that watch under concentrated UV light or something like that? Can you actually artificially age a watch like that?

there is zero chance i am having that done to mine not entirely sure i see the point - maybe on the black bb58 as there is an element of "fauxtina" in the design but not on the blue model

The bezel insert was actually faded, not edited.

It’s amazing. People would rather machines create the patina than actually wear their watches and pick up the patina.
