Why no "black dial + colored bezel" for YG Sub?

Back on the subject of random Rolex watch musings (like a decade or so ago, lol)...

Why did Rolex never take the opportunity to introduce a YG Sub with a colored bezel, the way it did with the SS and WG.

The SS once again comes as black dial + green bezel, the WG has gone from all-blue to black dial + blue bezel but YG is still all-blue or all-black.

The 11 series Subs and GMTs were all over the place in terms of rhyme or reason to the dial/bezel combos, at least as compared to the five-digit predecessors. The 12s are a bit more "in order" but this seems to have been a missed opportunity at the very least to create a buzz worthy YG Sub, the likes of which we haven't really seen in some time.

some things just aren't meant to make sense. just like why there's no two tone rose gold daytona yet even though women love that watch and rose gold is hot among everyone now

I think you've just answered your own question there: An attempt to convince them to buy the full-RG version .

But I have in fact wondered that myself, especially since the GMT PM/TT switched from YG to RG. It's literally the only PM combo not available as a Daytona, which is the only Professional watch available in al four PM options (as full-PM).

Probably because it looks better in steel.

There’s a gold gmt with a black bezel and green dial not too dissimilar.

This one always seemed out of place to me, and I never thought colored dial + black bezel looked as good as black dial + colored bezel. I will say I liked it more than the green-handed SS/TT.

It’s very nice I don’t care much for green but I feel it works better on yellow gold than any other metal.
