DJ36 on 7.25+ wrists

as I wait patiently on the AD to call me on a silver OP41 (he told me a year wait 2 months ago).......I went to a private motorcycle rally last week where 2 buddies of mine wore DJ36s and really liked it.........

Actually held a DJ41 (my first choice) @ the AD but didn't like how thick the bezel was.....so now I'm second guessing telling the AD that I wanted an OP41 because I really prefer getting a date model.....wondering if I should call the AD to make the change since the rep initially steered me away from the smaller DJ and recommended to get an OP41....

If you got a DJ36 & and a big wrist can you post a pic (and your wrist size)...

DJ36 can be rock by people of all wrist sizes, regardless of the latest social media which claims “bigger is better”

Beware of optics.

dj41 may look a bit large on close inspection when it is just 1 foot away from your face, but it looks perfectly proportionate from a distance.

conversely dj36 can look perfectly proportionate when held 1 foot from your face, but a bit small from a distance.

if you check out the appearance at a distance from a mirror, I think you will probably understand why the SA was advocating the OP41 / DJ41. They are great sizes for men's wristwatch. They actually measure 39.5 mm, by the way. Nearly the perfect size (39 mm is perfect imo).

The DJ 36 has sublime proportions. And I think it looks great on most wrists.

Personally, I’d ask what wait time on OP36 would be, but that’s because I care more about brushed center links than a date. But a 36mm Rolex will look good on any wrist size. Even a (vintage) 34 works for many.

I’m very much a 34-36mm convert, though.

Size is totally personal preference. If you like 36mm better, go for it.

100% true.

I have 7.25" wrists too.

My Submariner looks sort of large when I'm staring at it from 1 foot away.

It looks FANTASTIC at a distance when I look in a mirror.

It's the exact opposite with a 36mm. Looks great when it's right in front of your face. At a distance, they look kinda small.

My 36mm white dial DateJust, gets the most wrist time. I prefer it over my SS Submariner Date, and 39mm OP. Yes, I have a 7 1/2 wrist. It’s a classic Rolex, looks great, and comfortable. I personally would go with the 36mm, over the 41Op.

DJ36 on 7.25+ wrists

I don’t now my wrist size but it is certainly not small. I added one extra link (25 in total now) and wear it loose.

36mm is classic and awesome!

My wrist is a round ~7.25". Regardless, the DJ is a 36mm watch. Bigger is not better; it's (they're) just big and wrongly proportioned.

36mm is for you to tell time. Bigger is just for everyone else to look at.

Pictures here are not going to tell the true story. Seeing it in a mirror from a slight distance is the best way to judge for yourself. If you like the fit of a 36 on your wrist after seeing it in person….that’s all that matters.
My personal opinion is…it’s too small, but that’s my opinion, and I like to wear bigger watches. To each their own

People saying how the 41 and generally bigger sizes look good from a distance, makes me wonder whether its part of rolex marketing to make their watches generally more recognizable ;)

DJ36 on Jubilee is the most comfortable watch I own. Just because I consider it to be the perfect size doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy wearing larger watches and as I get older the larger watches are simply easier to see. But it takes a certain amount of confidence to wear a 36mm watch in a world full of big watches, or perhaps indifference. A DJ36 is the definitive Rolex, you really can’t go wrong.

DJ 36 will always be a classic regardless of wrist size or trends.

It’s the perfect size and proportions for a watch. Maybe not so much for a status symbol.

Your choice is obvious. You prefer a date function and you don’t like the thick bezel on the DJ41.

After 20 years of daily wearing a DJ 36 and now wearing an OP 41 I could never buy a 36 again.
