Are the subdial hands on the sea master chrono plastic?

Interested in this watch. Can anyone answer what material the subdial hands are made from? It’s not on the omega website

I purchased mine preowned and had it serviced. Hands were replaced and returned with the watch along with gaskets etc.
Main hands are Rhodium, sub second hand as well. The other 2 sub dial hands are metal. Most likely painted Rhodium.
Rhodium is highly corrosion resistant and more expensive than gold.

Excellent picture! Why did you need to have it serviced? Was the service done through Omega? And how much did it cost? I’m considering a pre-owned 42mm. Any comments about the watch? I wish the chronograph minute subdial clicked every minute instead of running continuous.

I think they are just rhodium plated but that does the job.

Agreed, for this model I believe they're Rhodium plated. Albeit more costly, my preference is to service though the Omega / Swatch Group service centres. They recently (maybe a few years now) cut off parts supply to independent watchmakers. Regardless, it's a lot harder to procure the original movement parts from Omega now, but they will sell you things like bezels etc (which I ordered less than two years ago).

Factory service is the way to go. They'll change the Helium Escape Valve, crown, and Chronograph pushers in addition to all gaskets like the crystal seal, etc.

Looking forward to your pictures once you obtain the watch!

I had it done at OSC. Cost was $750. The watch was used heavily. AR scratches, small dings in the case a damaged screw heads on bracelet. So I sent it in to have it refreshed. Came back brand new looking, pressure tested in water and timed. Ran +1 right off. Very pleased.

X2 Agreed.
Rhodium is hanging around $20,000 an ounce.
And it is really hard to work with on solid basis.
They only started making bullion a couple of years ago, before that it only came in powder form.
I don't think they are making anything out of solid rhodium for watches.

So it’s gold plated with rhodium?

The skeleton hands and raised indexes are rhodium-plated and are filled with white Super-LumiNova, while the helium escape valve has been given a conical design.

Copied from omega's web site.

For some reason, multiple comments on this review are mentioning that those are plastic hands.

Not sure why, all mine are definitely metal.
