I know that it looks horrendous, but it's healing and in a week or two will be as good as new. My old tom, used to constantly have open wounds as a result of fighting. We would've had him fixed, but as noted by Allan, catching him proved more trouble than his fighting.

The picture kind of reminds me of a NZ cartoon character named 'Horse' he's a tough cat too.

yeah, and that's a cat with CLAWS and TEETH. Here's a loon that got tired from flying across the ocean and landed on a North Carolina beach summer of 2008. A well-intentioned man tried to carry him to a point where he could put the loon in a box or cage and transport him to the local Humane Society.

The loon cut this guy's hands and wrists up with that big, nasty beak. The police were called, the Humane Society came, and said, in effect, 'leave the loon alone, he'll fly when he's rested, he's just fine'. The man, of course, went to the hospital for treatment.
