How do we feel about the two tone CHNR?
Let me be the first to admit that I think the two tone CHNR is absolutely stunning. However, when compared to the stainless steel versions of the BLNR or BLRO, does the CHNR lose out on practicality and everyday wear ?
I also agree that that many of us do not need a GMT watch so removing that from the equation I would love to hear from the forum as to what they think about the CHNR? Is it a practical everyday watch ? Does the rose gold make it more of a jewelry item then a “tool watch,”? Would you feel comfortable traveling with it? How easily do the center links pick up scratches ? Thanks ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

First of all, I don't think you're the first person to admit the two tone CHNR is stunning.
And in my opinion, any gold watch moves it from tool to more of a jewelry piece. And the GMT feature is a bit unnecessary, but nice to have when traveling. That said, it's a great watch, and I love my LN version; while I like the look of rose gold, not sure I'd get it myself.

Nice reference ,but not one I will buy if it comes my way ,simply because I prefer the Blue TT Subs.Personal taste
Not the biggest fan of rose gold too,BUT the full RG GMT is exceptional . ![]() |

It's definitely one of the very few TT watches I would like.
For your questions, Like any other Rolex sports, it is very practical every day. That said, any TT or gold I think negates a watch as having the "tool" look. Yes I would travel with it just like any other watch I own. PCL are easy to scratch and also more evident no matter the material. Gold being softer than steel makes it even more so. |

Definitely a practical everyday watch.
The gold does make it more jewellery than tool. I’ve yet to find a watch that isn’t suitable to travel in. The polished centre links particularly on the clasp and shoulders can pick up scratches but I’ve never found gold to be any worse than steel pcl. |

I love it. It’s def a practical every day watch for me. Great piece in any collection.
It’s as practical as the blnr or blro in every way imo. It’s just a different colorway. |

My one and only concern about it, particularly as an "only watch" is whether RG will remain fashionable in TT/full-PM form. RG dress watches on leather have been a staple forever, but TT versions with steel or titanium, and RG bracelet models have just exploded over the past decade or so. Makes me wonder if it has the same staying power as YG.

Have both the BLNR and CHNR. The chnr is very versatile and can be worn daily.

Lovely watch, but one I would not buy nor wear. I’m a stainless or pure PM guy.

The TT Root beer is absolutely stunning in person. It’s hypnotizing. I can’t take my eyes off my wife’s when she wears hers and I seethe, SEETHE, with jealousy. It’s also surprisingly versatile, which I didn’t expect when she first got it.
I think it’s one of the most beautiful and interesting watches Rolex has make in the last 20 years. |

I love it - one of the only two tones I would want in my collection besides the black dial daytona TT.

I much prefer the full PM variant, and must confess that I am not a fan of the brown. However, it is nice in the flesh and it certainly has its place in a board room

Love mine. I don’t have any problems wearing it everyday, but I don’t have any problems wearing my YG Day Date everyday either. I might go for a maxi case or 5 digits Bluesy next.

I like it much more than the BLNR or BLRO and am used to wearing the 116713LN. The new CHNR is less in your face than the YG TT and is perhaps the nicest Rolex GMT ever made.
It’s very versatile and goes with everything, perfect for a daily. The whole SS tool watch thing is something I never understood, best material for a diver i.e. is gold. Look how many older Subs have lots of corroded cases. Not so on the gold versions. Rolex being a toolwatch company ? Way before any Sub or GMT was ever created Rolex launched the DJ in 1945 already and in solid gold. It’s just the best material for a watch. Gold PCL scratches the same as SS PCL. I have worn both for a long time. The gold holds up very good. Anything that will scratch your gold will also scratch your SS. Touch a brick wall and both get damaged. Brushed bracelets scratch the same but it is less noticable. The CHNR I can only buy grey and that’s too expensive for me otherwise I would have bought one. Waiting out for the CHNR on a jubilee. After all a GMT deserves that beautiful bracelet. ![]()

How do we feel about the two tone CHNR?
Love it! Prefer the solid gold but definitely love the TT variant and feel it may be more vibrant because of the mix with a white metal. I would wear it as much as I wear my BLRO.

having previously owned it, and then sold it, here's my take:
it's a beautiful piece for sure with great wrist presence and looks pretty unique vs. other GMTs. but as beautiful as it is, it just didn't work as a "daily driver" for me. i found it sitting in the safe way more than on my wrist. admittedly, i have a very casual lifestyle and seldom get dressed up. if i was still going into an office every day, or out for lots of nice evenings, then i might have kept it. additionally, i find the brown/black/rose look just "clashed" with my wardrobe, which is blue/black heavy. so, it really comes down to personal style and taste. for me, pure SS or WG pieces just work better and get way more wrist time. glad i owned the CHNR, but ultimately not my style... |

Back in November 2018, a new Rolex AD opened in my town. I expressed my interest for a Sub (114060) I wish would become my first Rolex. I visited my AD about once a month to show my interest.
On a Friday in February 2019 as I walked in the store, a CHNR and a Bluesy were on display (still possible at that time!). Tried both on and surprise… was stunned by the CHNR. I liked the subtilness of RG and warm feeling of this watch. Bluesy was beautiful but maybe a little too « blingy » for my taste (at that time). Left the store thinking I would wait for a Sub… but over the weekend I could not forget the feeling I had with the CHNR on my wrist. Went back on Monday and… of course the CHNR was gone. I told my AD that I would be very interested in a CHNR instead of a Sub. I got the call in April 2019. Never regretted this CHNR as my first Rolex. No problem for a daily wear in my opinion. Since then, I added 3 Rolex to my collection. I still appreciate my CHNR! ![]() ![]() ![]() Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Yes. And I do. Very easily. Although no different from any other watch I own which has PCLs. You are welcome. Now for the important bit: what do you think of it? Because I won't be buying it for you. ![]() |

I have one. It is a beautiful piece and even on daily use it holds up very well. The only minor issue is that it is a very flashy piece and drives a lot of attention, sometimes more than a SS gmt.

I've always admired the CHNR, but I feel like it's a watch I'll continue to admire from a distance, as I don't think I'd ever pull the trigger on one myself. As another poster mentioned, I think the watch would clash with most of my wardrobe (which also consists of a lot of black and navy). That said, it is a beautiful and unique watch.

I saw it in person at my local AD recently. It was stunning in person, but a bit more subdued than I expected. That’s probably great for a lot of folks, but for me I think I’ll wait for a TT bluesy. The yellow gold really pops.

Apart from that the PCL do mark a bit but no more than PCL on my BLNR. I'm still waiting on my BLRO but I think even when that arrives, the CHNR will remain my favourite.
