SeaQ Panorama Date in Red Gold vs BLRO
Which would you rather have? I currently have a BLRO on jubilee, I’m batting around the idea of trading it towards the SeaQ Panorama Date in Red Gold new in box.
I bought the BLRO from an AD at retail and would likely have to throw in a few grand. I completely understand it’s subjective, just wondering what your thoughts are. |

I'm a GO fan but could never wrap my head around the Sea Q. In my eyes there's not enough there to differentiate from the 500 other sub-style watches to justify the high price. At least with the BLRO you can get your money out down the line.

I own the SEAQ pano Date bicolour ( grey dial , rose gold )
I also own a Sub and a Daytona. You cannot compare the watches. Rolex is Rolex...always a classic. GO is many steps above in everyway...If you want to get recognized stick to the Rolex...personally the GO gives me way more pleasure, and I like the fact that not many people understand what I am wearing ( although always ask me and are awed.) If you have a large wrist go with the Panorama date...100 hr reserve and a see through back Also you should be able to get a 20-25% discount on a new GO. |

BLRO for sure. King of all GMT watches. Sea Q is just...a nicely made dive watch.

That’s absolutely true, but part of what I’m after here is upgrading to PM with the solid gold case. I could basically trade into a 20k watch for the 9.5k I paid for the BLRO. I’m leaning towards forgetting about the whole thing and keeping the BLRO but I do like the SeaQ and trading for the gold version is a tempting proposition. |

The SeaQ is a nice watch, no doubt. Does the watch speak to you in any metal, or is precious metal at a price the draw? Where do your passions lie: case metal, dial and hands, movement design, complications, investment, brand recognition, or something else?
The GMT-Master II is an iconic piece that defines a genre. If you are truly tired of the GMT, sell it, but be sure! Replacing it with another will not be easy. Getting a SeaQ, on the other hand, is an everyday occurrence (maybe there is a reason for this?). |

I don’t disagree with your thought to trade blro while the gettin is good. But I’d caution you to really think about whether u really want the seaQ and if you foresee yourself with it in your collection forever. Trade a forever watch for another forever watch, not just flavor of the month watch.

Thanks for the insight, I think I’ll hold on, a BLRO with my name on the card isn’t something I should let go.
Thanks for the dose of reality! :) |
