Congrats!
I'm also a fan of the white dial. My wife has a 33mm Royal Oak and it looks great when she throws it on a white rubber strap for the summer. It's nice to have the ability to switch it up from time to time. Quote:

AP Papers
[QUOTE=acaixguard;11409443]I have been an admirer of the Royal Oak ever since seeing my uncle's over 20 years ago, but it always seemed out of reach for me. Since then, I have focused mostly on Rolexes, but I still yearned to obtain a piece from a member of the Holy Trinity, and the Royal Oak has been a top contender for a long time.
I first ventured into the AP NYC midtown boutique with a serious inquiry in January 2020. Chatted with the SA, and was told although difficult, it may be possible for me to obtain a non-blue dial 15500ST with some patience. So he registered my interest for a gray dialed one. Shortly after, COVID happened, and my pursuit of the piece fell by the wayside for a while. Fast forward to October 2020, I called the SA to express my still present interest, only this time, I asked to be considered for the white/silver dial instead, as over the past few months, that dial has really grown on my from all the pics I have seen. Stopped by the store to say hi in late November and again in January. In March, my wife and I stopped by, where she got to try on a diamond bezeled 37mm Offshore, and I tried on the Offshore Vampire, while continuing to express interest in the white 15500ST. It was during this visit I met the boutique coordinator, along with my original SA. This past Monday, I got an unexpected call from the boutique coordinator, saying they would like to offer me the white dialed 15500ST. Of course, I accepted, and proceeded to get the funds wired to them, which was completed by Wednesday. Told them my wrist size for them to size. This morning (Thursday), I received the package I have waited a long time for. Here are some pics. For those wondering, my wrist is about 16.3cm, or about 6.4". The watch definitely wears large, but the lugs are within the boundaries of my wrist edges, so I think it should work fine. Also, it is super comfortable wearing. Not too heavy, but enough weight to remind you that you are wearing a fine mechanical timepiece. Did your AP come with any papers related to movement etc? I bought a 26315OR from a boutique and was mailed a purchase authentication (price, movement number etc) but received nothing detailing the movement caliber or anything past the box, watch, extra links, and the purchase certificate. |

Thanks again for the kind words.
I stopped by the NYC Boutique today to get 1 link removed. It definitely fits better now. There's a chance it could feel a little snug if my wrist swells a lot in the summer heat, but I can live with it. Also got some swag today, since I wasn't there in person to take delivery. Scored one of those travel cases, a polo t-shirt, and a cap! They also let my wife try on a 15450, as she is torn between 34 vs 37mm. Before anyone gets excited, that 15450 is already allocated for someone and is going out the door on Monday, but she was kind enough to let us see it. Just some further details I thought I'd share about my allocation. I was chatting with the aforementioned boutique coordinator, and she mentioned how she was aware that I was waiting a while for the piece, and stopped in several times over the past year to demonstrate continued interest. She also felt it was really an aspirational piece for me, perhaps based on reasons I have mentioned in the past as to why I want an AP. Thus, she basically went to bat for me to be able to offer the piece to me when she learned about the upcoming shipment last week. I met with her on the past visit out of sheer luck, as the SA I have been corresponding with over the past year was tied up for a while with another client, so she offered to have my wife and I sit down at a desk to help me while we waited. It was then that she let us try on 2 Offshore models, and noted my wife's interest in a potential RO some day. If we didn't get to meet with her, I may not have been allocated the 15500ST this past week. On top of that, the only reason I stopped by the boutique that day was because I was in the city meeting with our accountant to file taxes. Talk about a small set of circumstances! Anyhow, just hoping my story helps other as to how AP goes about allocating pieces to new clients. I am far far from a NYC whale; in fact, I'm just a humble ER nurse by profession. I encourage anyone to visit a boutique that is entirely controlled/owned by AP. Although the RO line is difficult to get into, I feel that they are as fair they can possibly be in giving new clients with a genuine passion for the brand a shot. A couple pics from this afternoon... |

Congrats on your gorgeous timepiece!
With your 6.4” wrist, how many links to be removed from original bracelet?

Sorry for the very delayed reply to this. For those who are still wondering, I had 4 links removed, and a 5th link was replaced with a 1.5 link. So technically 3.5?
