44mm Forged Carbon questions
I recently came across a ROO forged carbon at a small reseller while traveling and was blown away. I fell in love with it but but passed on it because I hadn't done any research on the watch or the seller and it wasn't even on my radar.
Now it's on my list and would like any feedback from current/previous owners as I start looking around. I am curious about judging condition because it seemed hard to notice any nicks, dents or scratches, etc? How does the forged carbon hold up over time? Do people polish or refinish the case? Some listings I have seen the bevels look kind of sharp or well defined and others almost look rounded. Anything else to look out for with this model? Any input is greatly appreciated!! Thanks |

You cannot refinish or polish the case. You have to replace it. Depending on the model year some forged carbon cases get worn down by something as small as rubbing on your sweater or a long sleeve shirt cuff over time. It's hit or miss with them. But it's the best reasonably ROO IMO.

I loved mine
I think it’s the best looking of the 44mm ROOs I prefer subdials to be the same color as the rest of the dial, and I loved the contrast between the bezel and case No issues for me with the case It looked new when I sold it after a couple of years worn in rotation Let it go because I finally conceded a 44mm was just a bit too large for me. ![]() |

I have owned it a few times and love it.
You are looking at the correct area to take into consideration for overall condition. If it's been worn "softly" or "wrist aware" those bevels will maintain more of the original shape. Forged carbon in the sun is really cool looking. Good luck on your hunt ![]() |

Love mine. You won’t regret it. Mine has just come back from AP and has had the newer movement fitted.

The earlier bumblebees and alinghi FC ROOs had softer cases/bezels.

The Grand Prix Offshore is my favourite and definitely worth a look.

It's by far the most comfortable ROO in my collection. For a 44mm it wears a bit smaller due to the forged carbon on the black strap than you might imagine.
It isn't as bulky as a rose gold 44mm or a Schuhmacher.

I bought it pre owned and it developed some issues within the resellers warranty period. It went back to AP and AP put in the newer movement which judging by the papers the reseller picked up the cost of. Not sure how that plays out in other circumstances but other experienced AP members will be able to advise.

great sleeper watch. AP can replace the forged carbon case only, the newer version is improved in looks and durability.
its called the "enhanced" 3126 movement. its a new movement swap and they will give you new papers. its been super accurate and reliable so far |
