https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...=651206&page=5 I think the link is still appropriate- the dials and strap for that price point really needs improving. Fly back movement is nice bit i think most await that in the future ROC Try it on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Unrelated: When I looked at the post showing the AP chrono with the blue dial, I thought it was an IWC that I'd be ordering within a few minutes. Its a damn shame that I'm not rich. |

Daytona is the perfect blend of elegance and sport. It is a manageable size but wears well, it’s a got a robust movement and it’s aesthetically pleasing to most. Daytona is the perfect watch in my opinion and the hype is justified. There is a reason you can’t get one at retail since the early 2000’s.

As a car enthusiast and watch collector, having a Daytona is a must. I chose the 116500 with white face. Great watch!

I don't get how one can't see that Daytona is one of the few iconic watches. Your view is right to an extent, but Daytona remains my favorite timepiece ever.

Everyone has different tastes, in everything, not just watches. Owning and wearing a watch is supposed to be fun. On this very forum someone wrote, that he spent a fair amount of time at he's local AD, showing and discussing his new G Shock. Apparently, the sales associate loved watches as much as this gentleman did. If you love watches, it doesn’t mean you have to love every watch and want to own it. I really love watches and have since I was a little guy, but I don’t love every watch I see. I’m so very lucky to own the watches I do, and so are most others on this forum.

Personally I found my dislike for the Daytona waned when I was able to finally get my hands on one. I also found that before I owned one I was able to come up with a lot of reason why not to own one but after owning one they've all gone away. I really love the Daytona as one of the best Rolex watches. I love the size and fit. I love the symmetry. I love the movement and its reserve. If only there weren't so many hurdles (cost) in owning one, I'd own more than the two I do.

The Rolex Daytona is my favorite watch, but after 4 years of not getting a call from the AD and not wanting to pay grey market prices, I decided to purchase an Omega Speedmaster and don't regret it for a second. Looks great next to my Sub.

I have a Speedmaster and a Submariner too. Great combination. I love the Daytona too, but honesty, unless one is sitting in the display case and available for purchase at MSRP, then I’m just not interested in it. The Speedmaster is the only chronograph I need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

i find it a little small, and would prefer a 41mm. The speedmaster by omega is an amazing comparison at 6k. Also an icon and a nice piece.

X2. I officially probably purchased my final Rolex watch with the SS Daytona Panda. The comfort and wearability with rock star looks puts a big explanation mark on my watch collection.

I think that it’s an amazing watch. If I could change one thing it wouldn’t be the 3,6,9,12 sub-dial, it WOULD be the sub-second indicators on the main dial. I really wish that there were 3 ticks between each one. So that including the second indicator, one had 0.00, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75. As the movement beats at 28800bph, or 8 times a second, that would all one to read the time better (in theory) when timing an event. Omega changes the indicators for the Speedmaster as the new 3861 and 321 movements beat at different speeds. Throw in the 4,8,12 while at it too then. :-)
But it (Daytona) is a beautiful watch with so many dial options. People should be happy... |

I love my 116500 white dial on a black Rubber B strap as it matches my white BMW Z4 M40i in white with black top perfectly. The word Daytona in red on the dial also matches the red interior. What can I say? I am a petrol head.
