Platinum day date 40 green dial

Got the call for platinum day date 40 with olive green dial...is it still the anniversary dial? Could it be more rare than the Ice Blue dial ? Seems like ice blue gets a premium vs green. Worth buying ? Or wait for the next piece ?

It’s worth buying if you love the watch. I’d personally go for the WG & green dial, and if buying platinum, the ice blue dial.
JMO…. The blue dial is spectacular all around, and the green dial, while beautiful, is a very subtle shade of olive green. I’d definitely see both in person first, if available.

Dont get suckered into the gray dealer hype

Most pieces are selling between the gray dealers themselves to hype the market. The Rolex game is a complete bubble at the moment. Especially for a company that produces and have produced millions upon millions of watches per year.

If you like it, buy it. If you don't, on to the next.

The most popular combinations are:

RG with Olive dial.

Platinum with Ice Blue dial.

But you should buy only what you like to wear and make you happy.

If I'm getting platinum, I'm going ice blue dial. Olive looks best with RG. Nothing rare about it.

Buy what you like, personally I love the green dial. DJ khaled recently added a green dial platinum DD to his collection so it will probably gain in hype soon. I have a platinum DD with ice blue roman dial but would have jumped on the green dial if it was offered to me first.

Exactly what Ken said. As usual

Its the dial. Not the metal. To the OP, would I buy it? Only if you like it. I'd love to have the RG version outta the 3. Actually the RG with Chocolate would be choice. Dont really care about anniversary this and that. Buy what I like.

Irrelevant! This guy simply wants to buy a watch that will sell later at a profit. This is the new brand of watch collector.

FB groups are full of posts like this. “Just got offered a TT 36mm DJ with the super rare Wimbledon dial. Dealer says it is discontinued. What is it worth? How much will it go up?”

Joke!

Platinum with ice blue only… aside from the john Mayer, the rest of the green hype will come and go.

I’m not sure about green hype dying down anytime soon. Green is the new blue.

I do agree with you on ice blue only on the platinum though. 100%

A better question is, how long after buying this watch could i flip it and maximize my profits. I’ve never once asked which watch or dial variation is more rare when buying a watch. It’s never mattered. The answer is none of them are rare. Green is hyped up right now, but don’t let anyone fool you.

None of this is rare and the DD in green is certainly not worth the 70k+ in rose gold they are selling for.

^This. Very few are "getting the call" for a Platinum DD w/olive green dial. Very, very, very few.

I think the later is the primary point of the original question and it has nothing to do with actually wanting to own and wear the watch.

The ice blue is the better investment and that is what really matters
