They didn’t order you the wrong one. This is the one that got allocated to them and then asked if you wanted this variant.

Only buy what you originally wanted.

I’d take it honestly. The jubilee is amazing but the oyster feels more robust and sport oriented IMHO.

Life is too short, get the jubilee bracelet and enjoy both bracelets as you will eventually fall in love with the aesthetics of the oyster.
You will end up having a sport watch "oyster" and a dressy watch "jubilee" :-)

I ordered my 41 from my AD and received the exact model.
Smooth bezel, white Romans on oyster.
It was to match my wife’s DJ.

To me the smooth bezel matches the oyster and the fluted bezel matches the jubilee.

I would hang out for the combination you wanted.

It wasn’t your error and I wouldn’t pay for a jubilee bracelet to fix someone else’s error.

1700 euros is a lot even if you can sell the oyster with the associated hassles.

If I were you, I will take it and order Jubilee bracelet later. If you wait for the next one and might be next year, the price probably increase also. Both look good.

Did you get to keep the Oyster bracelet so you now have both?

Same thing happened to me, registered for a date just with blue dial then got the call about 8 months later, don’t remember specifying a bracelet at the time of registration but the one they had for me was oyster (could tell because of the price). Just emailed and told them I wanted jubilee and they ‘allocated’ the oyster to somebody else and left me on the list for jubilee. Went in to see the AD and they were fine about it and will phone me when they get one.

No, she would not allow me to have both, she needed to put the oyster bracelet on the other watch.

where would be a good place to get the jubilee on the secondary market? maybe i can find one for a good price.

Also, is there a particular model number for this bracelet?

You can order it from your AD. Part number is Rolex Jubilee Bracelet 62610 B20-62610-21-E1 & sells for $1700 USD. I don't think you'll find a good deal in the secondary market. I checked before getting mine from the AD and saw them selling for $2300-$2800 recently.

That’s a bummer!

I will say, I’m a bit confused as to how such a rather large misunderstanding occurred.

Did your AD order the watch custom for you? If so, didn’t you and the SA go over the order carefully!

Or, in the alternative, is this the blue DJ41 the AD received while you were top of their list?

If the former, did you prepay and get a copy of the invoice? Or did you just orally tell them what you wanted and they called to tel you your watch is in?

Their reluctance to “make it right” suggests for me that they received this watch in a standard shipment and offered it to you as opposed to ordering the watch specifically for you.

All of that aside, I have a fluted DJ41 and would enjoy having an oyster bracelet to swap between. Maybe you can find a way to get a discount on a Jubilee bracelet.

Good luck!

The jubilee bracelet for the DJ41 is part 62610 (B20-62610-21-E1). Best place to get it is through your AD. From AD it's $1700 USD. Secondary market I've seen it selling for WAY more

Under normal circumstances,,I would say ,,,wait for the watch you want but things are from normal out there and in this climate ,when are you likely to get that watch? especially the blue dial,,,
You could purchase the jubilee and sell the oyster though,,,

Why don't you try to exchange the whole watch with a Grey dealer, the price difference could be much less than ordering a new bracelet and you will not wait for a new watch too long while at the same time you will continue to maintain a good relation with your AD

Actually I was just checking David SW and price difference between the 2 configuration (in unworn condition) is just $400

OP - it sounds like the perfect dilemma, unless you don’t have the money for a jubilee bracelet.

The oyster will grow on you, it’s decidedly more utilitarian than the jubilee.
The jubilee could be purchased from the AD, in fact you could use this misunderstanding as a firm agreement that they get you a jubilee.

Having both bracelets will give you two watches in one, since the jubilee is far more flashy and elegant.

You can get a springbar puller on ebay for 20 bucks, and so long as you use a little tape when fiddling around, the bracelets will interchangeably suit your dress needs.

I think the blue fluted jubilee looks great on oyster also. There are plenty of examples on the forums. It dresses the watch down nicely but you could wear it with a sports jacket.

Buy the watch you want. However, I wouldn’t be so quick to discount the oyster. The next person would snap it up. Blue fluted indices are my favourite DJ

You’re already in the money with the watch. Get the separate jubilee. If You don’t wanna wear the watch for fear or damaging the bracelet, then remove it and put it on leather or nato until new bracelet arrives.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the great comments. I have decided to keep the watch as getting the blue fluted DJ41 is very difficult these days. I am leaning towards trying to sell the oyster bracelet and ordering a replacement jubilee.

I am not keen to watch ages for another change to get this watch.
