This is how it works at one of my ADs I deal with.

If the SA puts wants to sell it to me she has to put in a request to the store manager and then if he agrees it goes for VP approval. Even with all these steps they have been good to me.

At my AD, when a shipment arrives, the top tier, in-demand references (ie: Daytona, Pepsi, LV, SkyD Blue) are decided upon by the owner.

The remaining watches are then categorized into tiers, based on their demand, and then "drafted" by the SA's, under the direction of the Manager/Owner. The goal is for each SA to be allocated models from each tier level. After the "draft", SA's are free to sell to their respective clients, and also free to trade their pieces with another SA, if mutually agreed upon.

They also keep a number of references in the back, not allocated, which are available for sale to the right buyer.

I know the manager of my AD but pretty sure she allows lots of autonomy to the SA’s about who gets accepted to the lists for certain models. Case in point, I was visiting with my SA during the time I was waiting for my Daytona. Manager steps over to say hi and SA says Art’s next piece should be coming soon. Manager asks what I’m getting and SA says black dial Daytona so apparently she does not approve every sale.

Delivered by whom? Rolex?

Rolex does not deliver to individual stores within the network. The head-office main receiving center receives all merchandise and then said merchandise is distributed to each retail outlet as explained in my previous post.

I did not say that watches delivered to a specific store could be shifted to another store. You are correct, those watches distributed by head-office to a specific store remain there until sold.
