In search of a Daytona pre-owned

Hi guys
I bought a new Rolex 16610 in January 2011 V series so I suppose it would be manufactured in 2010 although I am not sure about that, and as I am now looking for a Daytona 116520 I wanted to know if the series with letters corresponds to the year of production. In the offers they clarify that what serial letter is but not the year. Thanks a lot and Merry Christmas!!

Letter prefix serials do not correspond directly to years, they represent when a prefix was first seen in the marketplace.

Most letter prefix serials were used for 3 or 4 years and ran concurrently with the released letter on either side of it.

For example, your V serial was first released in ~2008, and likely did spill over into 2010, which is when G serials and Random serials were first released.
