Honest.

I have no idea if they're available in other states though.

I think some people just drive by ear.

No sweat.

I just treat most posts as having the bouncing purple face implied.

Would be interesting to compare the GDP of the US and Europe and see if spending is similar from the perspective of GDP per person. Don’t have time to look those number up now, but will try later.

Where you Europeans are struggling just for an existence. I have been to Europe several times, I don’t remember people reverting back to horseback transportation and street soup kitchens

Interested in what you Europeans think of the statements.

But back to the point, at 175 I showed up as borderline OBESE on the doctor’s charts. I ran a 4.55 second 40 yard dash and had very low body fat, but I remember a doctor telling me I was headed for Diabetes, heart trouble and bad breath if I didn’t get down to 156 pounds, which was the standard on “the chart” for my (short) height. At 156 pounds… I would look like a Halloween skeleton. Now I completely admit I should probably be down around 165 pounds, but even then I would show as “overweight” and still within a few percentage points of OBESE. Those “Charts” can go $(@*$ themselves!!!
Too funny Paul.

I’m 6’2” and weigh 175 soaking wet and on the BMI charts I’m a 22 which shows as healthy but it’s on the high end of the spectrum. Most would say I’m skinny

The author is complaining about improved quality of life from 1980 to present:

Americans tend to overspend or buy cheap substitutes rather than save up for longer-lasting, better-quality goods.

If true, that explains a lot. Sadly I doubt Big Pharma will allow a study on this.

I remember flying home from a business trip a few years back. Four+ hour flight from Phoenix, AZ to Philly. The guy next to me kept ranting about how spoiled Americans are and that we need to scale back. Our houses are too big, we have too much money, we have too much stuff, we eat too much, our cars are too big, we're too greedy, blah, blah, blah...

He mentioned he was from Vancouver, Canada, and I just couldn't believe this guy was acting like this. I just thought he had very poor manners and very poor social skills.

I still can't believe how much patience I had. LOL!
