Came across this unicorn at the museum

Really is a stunner in-person. At the Academy of Motion Pictures Museum in an inconspicuous corner.

Put that on a bracelet and it would be more amazing. Any info on the watches film credits?

Wow! What a real treat to be able to see it in person! I had no idea that it was on public display anywhere. Thanks for sharing! They didn't have a sign with info or anything?

It was in the room with the award speeches, at the end of the table, with a plaque that stated “Paul Newman Daytona”. The plaque listed some history and the inscription on the case back.

Absolutely incredible…I wonder if the owner keeps that in CA. I think I recall reading an interview with the auctioneer at Philips, and he said he knows the owner, and that he wears the watch.

That's the Daytona Paul Newman actually wore, not just any PN Daytona. On the strap he actually wore it on. It wouldn't get any better or cooler on a bracelet. It is in its best form this way.

Niiice, imho it's better still to have met the man... and hung out with him (at Lime Rock Park a few times in my case). While we do cherish the timepiece he wore, let us all PLEASE remember the great man who wore it.
