Daytona C in white. It got me off my duff after 30 years of wearing one (Rolex) watch and not considering another. It got me joining TRF around the same time that I put down a deposit on it. It got me so wound up (ha!) that I ended up going platinum rather than waiting for the SS to come in (should be in the next month). I think it's the best looking modern Rolex made (for the money).

Totally agree. I put function above form, but when you can have both, why not? My GMT2 Pepsi is tops. I can't tell you how often I'm somewhere like the bank and check the date on my watch, just to confirm it. The new generation grabs their iPhones for that. Codgers like me are used to looking at our wrists. Time is always legible at a glance. And the GMT hand is useful for me when I travel and work with overseas markets or clients.

My GMT2 is also the most comfortable watch to wear that I've ever owned. A well-fitted Rolex bracelet is a thing of beauty. And a thing of beauty is a joy forever (Keats).

Best looking modern day Rolex and why

My vote goes to GMT2c. Rolex upgraded the watch not only on the Ceramic bezel (later to introduce BLNR and BLRO) but also allowed the hour hand to be adjusted, making a three time zone feature. There are also updates made on the technical movement parts which are shared across the other models.

I had it for few months and decided to sell with a profit. I think it's the hype behind it but like you mentioned, there is not functionality.

As a previous owner, I can feel it's just a hype

My personal opinion is the white face 116500 because of the black and white contrast and the red "Daytona" font.

Any thoughts?
Does everyone know these "pet" names like BL BR BO BS smurf etc. I see why you can't decide with all these coded names, abbreviations etc.

Sky Dweller is the bomb and it isn't even listed.

All you need is a Sub/Date and a ss Daytona .

The poll confirms .

PS: Surprised by BLNR > BLRO

I see that this is an old poll from 2017, personally I think the best looking modern Rolex is the 116500LN Daytona.

The Daytona is the do-it-all Rolex. Equally adaptable with shorts and t-shirt or a tuxedo.

I voted for Daytona due to its thin profile and elegantly shaped case.

For models like the GMT, sub etc, the modern aesthetics lose out to the 5 digits sadly.

Of the ones on your list, I would pick the white dial Daytona or the Batman.

Panda Daytona and the Pepsi GMT

The modern ceramic Pepsi GMT is a direct descendent of the original Bakelite GMT and looks much more like it compared to the aluminum bezel ones. Originally I liked the aluminum bezel ones more but the ceramic has really grown on me. Not to mention with a better & updated movement.
