Looking for gmt batman
Any ideas how to get gmt master batman retail. I bought sub on chrono few years back for 20% mark up which i felt reasonable however now markups are like 100%.
Is it impossible to get from AD? Any possibility of them accepting an incentive such as purchasing additional watch or cash? |

Ask your AD nicely?

I picked up my 126710BLNR on Jubilee from Toronto area AD a couple days ago. It took 2.5 years from the date I bought my wife her DJ (and requested the BLNR) to when I got the call. Good luck to you my friend lol.

Everyone and their mother wants a BLNR at retail. Spend aboot $25,000 on other things and they'll let you get one. That's how it is, unfortunately.

I was able to get one in 2020 at retail but it was during the Covid lockdown and I think I moved to the top of the list thanks to all of the uncertainty. Then it was about a 6 month wait.

Just try to build the relationship with the AD. If you don't have spend history, then create some. Ask the AD the best way to get one.

Depends on how patience you have. I got mine with little history and simple persistence. Took about 2 yrs.

Anything is possible if you know how to play the game. I build a good relationship with my AD and got my BLNR after 3 months and this is with no spend history. One year later I got the Daytona Panda which was another piece on my list. This year I’ll get the BLRO.

Either way, you’ll struggle. Since you’ve got additional cash, just go grey market. Most people who get a Batman at retail now are preferred clients. |

Things are very difficult in Canada. I suspect you would have a few years ahead of you which would include a decent spend history and referrals. I also live in Canada so I pay particular attention to incomings… A recent poster said he had to spend 20k for a sub. Another said he had to purchase 3-4 other pieces to be considered for a sub. And of course the BLNR is much harder to get.
If you don’t want to put in the time and effort (money) just go grey. You’ll probably save money in the long run and have it tomorrow if you want. Good luck Don’t offer to pay more!! |

The BLNR is my favorite of the current GMT’s. My Wife spoke with an AD at the beginning of November last year and picked it up mid-December. It took about 6 weeks. Good luck on your quest for this awesome watch! It’s definitely obtainable with a little patients and friendly persistence.

Luck plays a part for sure. I found an AD before Christmas, I was buying something for my wife anyway and was offered a blnr after the fact. They’re out there at ad’s but you’ll almost certainly have to bundle it with something else.

It's not impossible, just very difficult for most of us.
I walked smack into one on a visit to my AD last year. I could have bought it there and then. It happens. I know it happens because it happened to me. I never saw one before and I haven't seen one since. If you don't ask you don't get. You have to start somewhere. |

It depends on the individual asking, the AD, and also the SA. There are a lot of factors at play. Having even a very small spend history helps break the ice. I had a very small history at my AD (steel DJ 41). I was offered a BLNR within 2 months of inquiring about a BLRO, but held out for the BLRO (took about a year). So it is possible!
A lot of it is luck. If you connect with an SA, they will pull for you and try to help. With my small spend history, and the friendship I built with my SA, I get invited to the private events, and I am contacted every so often about stock or whether I have my eye on anything in particular. However, if you walk in and the impression you leave is that you're just another person wanting a hot reference, you'll likely get the generic response and be forgotten by them. |
