I think Chopard makes good watches and I believe that line uses their own movement. Good chronographs if the style suits you.

The Mille Miglia are all still using modified ETA movements.

Chopard only started using in-house movements on their LUC range of classic/dress watches.

Nice! Has your watch been reliable and accurate? I am thinking about the 168920.

LUCs are nice but their reliability can be a bit hit or miss. Don't really care for the MMs or ladies watches though.

A very respectable, if seldom seen or heard, brand but most of their designs are too 'loud' or busy for me.

I have to say that this MM is a hit. I love it, it's light and very versatile; in over 10 years, it's never failed me.

I absolutely love Chopard as a brand, incredible attention to details....and their LUC movements are on par with JLC...and other top tier brands IMO....someday the Lunar One...will be mine!

However, if the meantime I got the Mille Miglia GMT Chronograph....i'm sooo happy I decided to get it instead of the IWC Pilot Chrono...which didnt really sing to me all that much. I never get tired of it.

Next time, you get a hold of the MM...smell the rubber strap...it's vanilla scented LOL....and it's still there since I last got it...almost 9 months ago...

I used to own a MM GMT ...

a very nice watch using a variation of the 7750 movement with GMT function added. Nicely made. The list price of of Chopards is high for what you get but on the secondary market they are a good value. Here's what I had:

Mine has been a great watch, accurate and reliable, well its ETA based so whats not to like? The titanium case seem hard wearing. Not sure about the OEM rubber strap, changed mine for leather.

I have not found any other threads on it..so if I just suck at searching, please feel free to let me know.

Anyhow, how good would a Chopard Alpine Eagle in 39MM with the L.U.C. micro-rotor movement be?

I did the math and just using the difference in movement thickness....that it would be 8.05MM thick. JUST slightly thinner then the Jumbo.

Not sure if they would have to add a little width to the movement to keep the date out on the edge the way the 41MM is laid out....but anyhow.

I would absolutely jump on it....and releasing the same year as the jumbos 50th anniversary would not only humorous, but probably contribute to popularity.

I like the LUC 1860 Flying T, Special Revolution a lot. It is only 36.5 mm in diameter and 8.2 mm in height for a tourbillon. Classy.
