Dreaming or Achievable? Looking for a yacht master 40 in NYC!
Hey guys. Newbie here. Came to nyc half year ago and ever since then was dreaming about getting a yacht master 40 rhodium or op41 black. Beginning last month, I have started walking around shops in the city and nearby (bucherer, wos, wempe, short hill, etc), telling them my interest and was getting it for my anniversary at July, and every shop has joined me into their waitlist. It is just audacious to expect a call from any of these ad within next 6 months with zero purchase history?

Not at all - it can happen. Make a couple of smail, select purchases if you can and turn
up the heat a little at a time...good luck! Ben |

The ADs hear these "stories" all the time. The grey price for those models are not much higher than retail. Why waste your time.

Weirdly, I think the Yachtmaster is more likely to surface than the black OP. I am waiting on a red OP41 and my SA tells me they are getting them but the colors are pretty random. I think Wempe, WOS, or Tourneau would all be possibilities. Stick with one SA at each store and drop in to remind them every once in a while. I would NOT go to multiple locations of the same chain, if they really keep wish lists it may go into a common database.
I had a nice conversation with the manager of London Jewelers in the Oculus my last visit. I wasn’t asking for a Rolex but he said he always welcomed new customers. |

As above.... I am wanting to get a rhodium YM to replace a BLNR.
I should have got one 12 months ago - as they are now difficult to say the least from UK Ads. And UK grey prices are now higher than my BLNR! They have suddenly gone bonkers! |

It's obtainable. Visit Rolex boutique and show your interest in that watch and stop by visit them once a month, you will have a good chance to get it.

The premium of rhodium dial is high. But I was told by most of them saying those two models asked have a "relatively" short line.

And I think the boutique at the short hill is owned by the London Jewelers right? so no need to visit their downtown shop? |

Just asking. If I decide to go grey eventually, how do I verify the authenticity of the watch, given that this will be my very first Rolex watch. Forgive me if this question sounds stupid

Not stupid at all. It’s a large sum of money you are spending. I can tell you that all trusted Sellers’s here or the grey dealers here have outstanding reputations. You will be ok here, but venture out to eBay or chrono24 and you are on your own. Better decide quick because these are going up weekly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Maybe look outside of NYC. Too much bonus money sloshing around right now.

to answer your question though, it's gonna be hard in nyc. try going to new jersey to smaller ADs. the YM40 was long overdue to catch up in premiums, i didn't even realize they were going for 20k now |
