Thanks for the kind words everyone - much appreciated

In terms of the size, for me I don't have any rules I just look at it on a case by case basis and what is right for each watch. With a 7" wrist I can wear most watches from 34-43 mm. In terms of the Explorer, for some reason the 39mm never did it for me - a bit like the DJ41, I can wear it but the proportions on the DJ36 just felt better. I have wanted a 36mm Explorer for a long time and was considering a 114270 so when Rolex announced the 124270 I knew I wanted it. It feels perfect on wrist (although I actually think I prefer the bracelet ok the OP36 well less taper).

Here are some examples of different sized watches on my wrist from the 34mm Tudor to the 42mm Heritage Advisor for comparison.
