Literally this practice has been going on for years. Buy new electronic item register and get another 1/2 years.

Richemont are not hiding anything from customers. They publicly published this, it also apply automatically from this year if customers accept the terms of the hour club. ( Every new watch comes with a sign up card)

How does one find fault in Richemont now extending warranty to 8 years? I can’t see how they tried to fool or trick anyone here. I assume everyone was given the same opportunity to log in and extend. I know I was called by the boutique on the day the extension was announced and advised on how it could be done.

Went to a VC boutique in HK and was quoted 4-5 years for the 4500v. 4 years for the Black and 5 years for the Blue. Nearly bought it from the boutique a year ago and there was no wait then. The SAs were quite nice though and happy to chat. Put my name down for a Blue. 1 year extra doesn't sound so bad when its 4 vs 5 and I have plenty of time to think if I do want to buy it.

Anti-RNA posts abound on TRF. It's a great way to get you to register your timepiece and a hell of a gift in return.

There's a good chance you may get a watch serviced for free with this deal. I love it.

They want people to register because they want to know who the owner is. This is a way for them to track the watch if it gets sent in for service. It helps identify "flippers."

Do they not take down the buyer's name at the time of purchase?

I'm not anti richemont. I own 2 of their watches and the service I've received from both of the richemont brands have been far superior to my experience with the rolex ad. However, I only found out about this extension on this forum (another reason I love trf as an excellent resource of information), and never received any notice or announcement from vc (even though I have registered for the hour club when I initially got my watch).

Share that with your SA. Not acceptable. Mine emailed me the same day I saw it here on TRF. I had the same wtf feeling for a moment.

The local boutique or online boutique naturally has the buyer's name on the invoice and in their CRM, however the watch does not auto-register to that buyer until after registering online with VC.

These watches are really one of not many. So it's pretty hard to set an accurate market price. I guess the price is what the very very few that have one are willing to sell it for. I have never seen it on the market. Especially in HK shops, where only recently the base VCO 4500v has started to show up in the shops.

Looking at local Carousel app, the rose gold on leather strap is sold for 918k HKD and list is 735k. So if you figure out the list for this one and then apply a similar premium perhaps as a benchmark?

Thanks. Yes that's what I noted too. I just wanted to know what is the current market value in case one day I want to sell it. It is a huge amount of money I am spending on a watch although I am not buying it to flip. But just thinking ahead in case I sell it years later.

One sat for sale for many months at $140,000. Given price plus sales tax and dealer margin you will be able to break even.

Your offer will be 25% under what they are selling for themselves if it's easy to move (Rolex, VCO steel etc).

Last time I saw MSRP on that perpetual thin it was $102,000 USD.

Sales tax here makes it $110,500 to take home.

Dealer listing was $140,000 which means you'd just about break even if you needed to sell it. (In this current market).

Lol, no, maybe on a Rolex sub. 25%-30% of market list price is closer to realistic as far as offer from a dealer which is separate from margin. If you aren't comfortable losing 30% - 40% of the value on this watch you shouldn't buy it. Market value today is one thing, 5 years from now is something else. The one thing you can be assured of is that they will keep making more and VC will keep introducing and hyping new models in the future.

No I haven't been offered to put down a deposit. Apparently I underestimated this watch. It is more difficult to get than I thought

according to my knowledge, dealer make roughly 10-15%. My friend recently sold a panda to a grey dealer for HKD352K and the dealer posted it the next day for HKD392K

On the hottest quick flip pieces that may be acceptable. You won't see that on harder to sell pieces. That's why he said maybe on a sub. 116500 would qualify also. Holding cost is low on a 3 day flip.

Steel version and rose gold blue dial 222 in 39mm.

That would be incredible.

How much are extra rubber straps? Thinking about picking up a white one. And what other colors do they sell, besides the elusive orange?
