VC DON'T make a lot of watches.
On the higher complicated models boutiques have very limited annual stock for to the manufacturing time.

VC have a lot of LES CABINOTIERS watches being made, the back log is significant.

I know speculative gray dealers are. I can't say the same for people actually wearing the watch. What a time we're in...

I contemplated on purchasing the blue dial 4500v at $36k back in Sept. 2021. Almost pulled the trigger. Currently, at over $60k, I will wait patiently for my SA to call. Who knows when that will happen though….

Me too. Swapping for my white Daytona was the plan and was 90% there and didn't do it. Bought the 5500V while I waited for the call.

Shockingly, even at 60k, it almost still seems like a good value vs AP, Patek, Rolex...
Secondary for many of the current royal oak references are starting to pop up at or over 100k now and the Daytona is now over 50k. The time only Aquanaut is 100k and almost everything else sports is moving towards the 200s! what!??

I agree, 60k on it's own sounds pretty insane, but comparatively, it still represents a good value. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see the price continue to rise in the short-mid term. Long-term though, it is hard to believe these prices will persist.

I think prices will persist b/c watch prices tend to be sticky.

But, I think at some point soon we will see a plateau and the crazy increases will stop at least. Many buyers actually do tend to hold onto their watches and the percent being flipped is probably relatively small in comparison.

Even as market conditions change, dealers have historically shown resilience and strong resistance to drop prices significantly.

My buddy paid 50k-ish not long ago so definitely possible there are some who are paying 60k considering the available inventory comparative to other brands is relatively low

sounds crazy to say but the 60k market price still represents good value compared to what other watches are trading at.

hard to believe that this market will continue but i said the same thing every year from 2018-2021 so i don't know anymore.

Curious to know average waiting times for the 4500V in blue. I placed an order in February 2021 with a VC boutique but nothing yet . . . .

When you say “placed an order,” did you leave a deposit?

Sadly, VC has been sucked into the same sports watch hype "investment piece" craze as the rest of them.

So, it might be a while, it might be forever/never.

Bought mine in 2020 just before demand for it and prices went crazy

The London boutique told me that it is now a 5 year wait list for the blue face

Good news is if you left a deposit with the VC boutique they're pretty solid about locking you in, albeit the wait varies.
