First Panerai—accuracy?
Just got my first Panerai. PAM683. I’ve had it for a week and it’s 2mins and 40 seconds fast—so about 22 spd. Is this normal?

No. It can, and should, be much better. Possibly a bit of magnetism?

No, my last p9010 runs between +2 and -8 depending on the position overnight.

Firstly, try a full wind then store face up overnight.

Are you suggesting to test the overnight change and/or do a full wind every night? I’ve been wearing it 7 days straight and only taking it off to shower and sleep. Stopped by the AD today but my sales guy wasn’t there. So I’ll test it another week after a full wind tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I mean fully wind it, place it face up overnight, measure the loss during the night. Wear in the day and see the loss during day. Do not wind again and see the loss over the next night.
In certain positions loss can be significant and in others no loss a tall. If it is loosing in all positions and while worn I would not be happy. |

Plus, post the cert from the box and we will be able to see what Panerai expect in each position for your watch.

Not normal at all. Ive owed about 6 Panerai and all have been consistently accurate to within 2-3 seconds per day.

I had a similar/older variant. For the price, they ought to be COSC certified or run better. Mine did not.

Not normal. Few seconds off per day is probably the normal range.

Give it a couple of months to settle in and check the timing. Don't want to rush back, have them adjust and timing changes again.
If the watch has been sitting. Waiting moves the oils around. Sort of like a new car where they tell you drive normal to break it it. DON |

If you look on your cert it will show you the best position to loose least time.

Over the course of 8 days and storing it vertical winder down, it averaged 3 spd fast. I’m happy. Thanks for the tips! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
