Need Help Evaluating This 16613

Hello everyone,

I am about to pull the trigger on this 16613 TT but I would really appreciate any thoughts that you may have.

The watch is from 1998, sold with paper, and case has been refinished but hard for me to compare with an untouched one.

My concern is mainly to know if someone sees any issue or serviced part, as I really would like a watch with its original components.

Seller is asking about $11,800.

Thank you!

The case isn't particularly strong, and the price sounds high for a TT, but I don't know your market.

Thanks! The price is more or less ok compared to what I have seen so far. I really thought that the case was strong, especially when seeing the lug holes.

Thank you for your input! However I am sorry but since I am not native, my level of English did not allow me to understand everything ....

I have a Bluesy from this year. Your watch in comparison to mine checks out.

Watch is over polished imho. Chamfers are gone, lugs are thin, brushing on lugs not near factory Rolex. You can find much better examples it’s not a rare watch!

Thanks! I think that I will pass then.

I have also found this one, bit more steep.

I find this watch incredibly hard to find. There a load of bluesy, but TT black and gold untouched are not an easy quest.

If you are looking the early stardust dial versions are very nice - the dial ages with the lower dial that gives tiny little gold glittering stars across the dial - only happens on the black and it's mighty fine especially at dusk.

Interesting, which years are we talking about?

Seen typically on 9 million and R serial around the 1987 period - it's a similar anomaly to the blue dial 16613 around that time that goes purple of course - these are the types of vintage pieces that I find interesting. I don't have a photo unfortunately it's a quite subtle effect that pops in certain light.

This looks like in much better condition (much stronger case). It has probably been polished but it was a nice job (nice V brushing on lugs, fat and sharp case, looks like there are chamfers).

Couple more shots. It has been polished, indeed.

The more recent watch posted looks fine to me. Ugly watch IMO, but legit and in good condition. Just make sure you're not going to tire of it.
