Daytona stopped working!

I’ve had my panda for 4 months, a true beauty.

I’m in the Caymans and notice that all of a sudden my second hand stops at 6 o clock position and will start moving again if I shake the watch. I tried to wind it but that isn’t the problem. How can this be!?

could be magnetized. had mine for 6 months and it started acting similar to yours. The watch is with RSC now.

You tried to wind it, or you actually did wind it? They will stop without sufficient activity to keep them wound up.

If the seconds hand only moves a couple of seconds either way and not much more, it is usually a broken mainspring.

I was able to wind my '21 Daytona normally and 70 turns for full charge. However the watch would stop after few hours. Gave it a shake and the seconds hand starts running again. RSC has the watch and warranty card at the moment and the service letter states "Service compliments of Rolex"

I did wind it. Sending it to RSC tomorrow. Needless to say I am profoundly disappointed with what I expected.

It's hard to recover from "profound disappointment".

Mechanical watches break. Humans make mistakes. Materials fail.

That's why there's a warranty.

@watchmaker, what do you think caused the watch to behave this way? I rotate my watches on a daily basis and only the 116500 is having this issue. thanks.

I had the same problem once but it happened after I dropped the watch. Warranty covered it.

Profound disappointment? Tell that to Max Verstappen. His 20 million dollar car died on the track after race 1. That’s profound disappointment. No offence, but your 20k Daytona wasn’t made with the same love and care. If it can happen to him, it can happen to you. This is why warranties exist.
