I have heard this theory but the people I know that own private jets also wear Rolex watches. Same is true in my car club and concours events. The nicest cars generally have owners wearing Rolex watches. My buddy has always wore a Daytona but also owns a Carrera GT and drives it regularly on our cruises and also flies his helicopter everywhere. It could be a appreciation for the mechanical watch and the big boy toys but I also see a quality of lifestyle consistency.

Yachts. My friend in Singapore has a yacht with a full time crew. He wears an Apple watch. His wife wears a petek, ap, etc.... So.... meh is right. The whole I'm a billionaire so I have to dress poor thing is for boomers. Or people near death.

The reality is people don't care what others have or not these days. It's all just appreciating the good things we have and are blessed with.
