RSC Service Question
When you send a watch in to RSC for service that has a random serial number, do they tell you the year of the watch on the paperwork that eventually comes back?
I'm trying to find out how to definitively date a watch that is random. It's fairly easy to find a year range based on clasp and dial variations throughout the years but am not able to nail down a specific year. Surely their internal databases track that sort of thing, right? |

No, they don't tell you.
Serial numbers have never changed by "model year". You don't really know when a watch was made, even the charts on the Internet are guesses, not absolute.

It’s on your papers that came with the watch when purchased new. Absent those, you cannot tell. Of course Rolex knows, but they do not disclose.

It's fascinating (and a little shady) that they won't disclose that to you. It's like buying a car and not being told the year lol.
