GMT now has 4 different color combo bezel inserts

We’ve got the BLNR, BLRO, CHNR and now this new abomination.

To say I’m disappointed a Coke was not released is an understatement. I’m having a difficult time trying to understand the logic from Rolex here. A left handed black/green bezel GMT.. Why ? why this random color combo over the iconic and much desired black/red Coke.

This ultimately means that a new color combo GMT will not be released for a long time. I can’t imagine a 5th color combo being added anytime soon? ughhh. After the teaser GMT pics, I was so certain a Coke would be unveiled, ughh..

They want at least one release to make it to the case so customers stop complaining that there are no watches to sell. I think instead of GMT-Master this reference should be dubbed "Case-Dweller".

Agree. This should be easily sourced as I can’t see the demand being high for this piece. It’s awful

In todays market I think it will still be unavailable and for a Rolex a huge success - as we know there doesn’t seem any Rolex in the cases - still trying to acclimatise to it looking upside down in my eyes.

I'm not a fan of the new GMT. The colour combo is nice but the crown and date doesn't work for me and I'm sure it won't work for a lot of people. However, I can see these being even harder to get than the current GMT's as I suspect they will be made in lower numbers and demand will still be ridiculous.

Don't worry. They will be releasing it next year. Rolex are always releasing a Coke next year.

I really don’t understand the dislike for this new GMT.

Yes, it’s not a red/black.

As for why … I believe the ceo of the company has stated somewhere that his favourite reference in the Rolex catalogue is the GMT so it seems to make sense to me that they have been focusing on it

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t I guess, but I’m sure they’ll start popping up here on the forum to applause and accolades

The new watch will look great in person is my guess. Although the green is supposed to the same as the green on the sub41LV, I do wonder if it’s a slightly different shade due to its two-colour construction. I find that the blue on the white gold sub41 looks a bit different to the blue on the Batman (at least to me).

Why do I mention that? Well, I assume that the red on a “Coke” would be more red than the red on a Pepsi. Does Rolex really want a “red red” Coke and a “not as red” Pepsi next to each other? The blue on the Batman is different than the Blue on the Pepsi as well. Doesn’t hurt the Pepsi (I love the colour of its bezel and if I got a gmt I’d want a Pepsi). But maybe that’s why Rolex hasn’t introduced the Coke?

Are there any other 'true' left hand watches. I can think of destro, but not where the date window also moves across.

I know I could google, but can't be bothered

Unusual yes, but bravo for the left handers.

1 in 10 pilots are left handed. This is a great move by Rolex.

There's no rule that says having a crown on the left means it's for left handers. It's just an assumption, like those who think women shouldn't wear large watches.

I'm not keen on the colours, but the most jarring aspect is the position of the date window. It doesn't look right to me - a lazy assumption on may part. What is "right"?

Heuer wanted to emphasise the self winding feature of their 1969 Calibre 11 Monaco (the first watch of its type to be self winding), so put the crown opposite the conventional location. The Calibre 11 Monaco has been sold in this configuration since.

Left and right handed people wear it and get on with it just fine. Nobody, including Heuer, ever described it as a watch for heft handers, because it isn't.

if anything makes sense, this release will be an epic short run and disappear in a year launching it into the stratosphere.

in decades collectors will ask what insanity was going on back then

Happy to see all this distain for the new green GMT….means I might actually get allocated one!

Not a lefty or anything but I just like it because it’s so different than anything else I have, but I understand what others are saying as far as their personal tastes and disliking it….also that Case-Dweller joke was priceless TimeAZ lol.

I don't see Rolex releasing a 5th color combo of the GMT. High likely they would remove one color to add another. This would add more appeal to Rolex collectors as they shuffle around colors over the years.

not sure if there's a connection and its a stretch for sure but... they discontinued 2 pieces that were blue and yellow and made a green watch. Blue and yellow makes green. TBH I was tired and was reading a bed time book for my kids and made this connection. Don't judge me. lol

Everyone is disappointed in the new Gmt. I talked to my AD today who is at the show and no one likes it.

If the crown and cyclops were in normal right sided position, I’d be all over this.

As it’s stands I’ll still try to go after the 116710LN, because I’m looking for a green GMT.

I absolutely love this watch. Then thought, wtf, when i looked closer.
It looks like it’s on backward.

My right handed son has this one and I've also got at least one left crown watch. Not really an issue at all. However, I wish they had made it as a right hand one, I would have tried to get in line somewhere for the green/black bezel GMT...
