Modding a 116710LN with the New Green/Black bezel.
Seems lots of folks love the new bezel on the LHD GMT. Do folks think people will mod the black bezel GMT with likely an aftermarket version? With the green GMT hand, it seems to be a simple mod, not requiring case opening.
Not going to do this to mine, but wondering folks think this will be common.

If you can get your hands on one you can have a watch smith that knows what they are doing flip the case, date wheel and dial. And you will have a right hand version. That would be a mod I would like to see.

I think the movement has been slightly modified to have the calendar wheel advance in the opposite direction, so when the date flips, the next date comes up from the bottom like the RHD. Also, the winding stem would operate backwards? Cyclops would be on top also. I could be wrong, and that would be lame on Rolex's part if it's just a flipped movement.

I would never do it, but the LN reference has been out awhile and many were bought at a low price. The LHD is a flexers dream, and I can see folks trying to make a RHD version it if its simple bezel swap.

Will the 1267xx Bezel fit the 1167xx case?
I'd love to swap with an OEM Bezel, but I draw the line at aftermarket. PS I've already modded my 116710LN by brushing the PCL's |

It probably won’t fit. There is a difference between the bezel insert on the 116710 and the 127710. But if you have a 126710 BLNO or BLNR you might be able to do it. If you can get the bezel insert. I’d imagine it will be a few months after we start seeing the black/green one around you’ll start seeing inserts but I bet just the ceramic insert alone goes for $4-5k usd. And then you could have a right handed black/green gmt.

You could get an aftermarket one you could put an aftermarket one on. I mean personally I would never do that but if you wanted to you could. I have seen them. They make them in just about every color. And I’m sure they ramped up production on the green and black. Just fyi. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thank you. But like you, I would never add an aftermarket part. I would however exchange with legit parts such as Jubilee bracelet. And keep the originals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

He never said aftermarket. He just wants to know if the new factory bezel would fit. I think it would be a straight swap

If you look at all 3 bezels and inserts on the steel GMTs they all vary slightly Rolex had made them in this way to stop interchanging open 3 browsers get all 3 variations one on each screen and flick through they are different

I would do this with an OEM for mine if i could even if it meant a new bezel entirely (i made sarcastic comment and got people's hopes up) Rolex has engineered it so they aren't compatible i'm sure. The green is closer looking than i though too. It's a bummer
I've done it on a 16710LN and it's great fun. |

I've decided if the Red Sub is Red based on the print then my 116710LN is the real Green GMT since it actually has green print.

It would not fit. Hence why I said, if he really wanted to do this, he could go aftermarket. If he has a 126710, it would fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I know the new 12x series caer lugs are different but I doubt anything else on the case is different. You’re positive? I’m not interested it doing this, but curious for the hobby.

100%. I tried it at one point. It is both the bezels that are different and the inserts themselves and they’re not interchangeable. both insets are pressure fitted into the bezel of their model. You could get the insert to stay in place if you used like a two sided tape probably but I’d never do that. I just wouldn’t trust it. Also the inserts are different thicknesses so they don’t look right. I believe (don’t quote me on this part) the 126 has a thinner insert and if you do put it on the 116710, the crystal height is off and also the lip of the bezel versus the insert (it’s not flush the way they are on each individual model). Rolex knows what they’re doing and they’re not letting parts interchange easily I’m guessing. I mean maybe with modifications it could work. I don’t want someone who did some weird modifications to their gmt to tell me im talking out of my ass but it’s not a straight swap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Or we could wait for the RHD version.
I really hope it’s coming because I love this watch, minus the lefty. |
