Quaranta - Snap-in, driven or screw-in case backs?
Does anyone know if the 40mm "Quaranta"-series have snap-on, driven or screw-down case backs?
I know the 42mm and 44mm "Luminor 1950"-s have screw-down casebacks, but they also house the P.9010 while the Quarantas house the P.900. EDIT: According to this site, they're screw-down, but I'm not sure where the author got the information from: https://www.bosshunting.com.au/style...rina-quaranta/ |

The ones that are listed on Chrono24 have perfectly aligned casebacks.
Cheers Jose

I’d bet they’re driven, but I don’t know for sure.

Question is what is "driven" or bayonet caseback on panerai? Has anyone seen any open caseback on such model, or any blueprint? Is it something similar as on omegas naiad lock or something more basic. They are definately not transparent enough with their custumers.

I 100% prefer screwed, but does it really matter? If the watch is rated to XXXm (+20%) does it really matter exactly how the back is applied? Honest question. all_in_the_pamily on IG |

it would be nice to know what that case back looks like. it is strange to me that panerai does not give any explanations especially because it is obviously now the wider use of this kind of caseback is in place.

Technically, no, I suppose it does not matter from a specs perspective. But, these are luxury products where perception and emotion are just as important. Rightly or wrongly, snap-on (driven) cases are perceived as being a cheap downgrade by some (many?). So, yes it matters. |
