I loved this TT DJ 16013 when I bought it in 1987, I was 35 years old. I'm now 70 and the watch is 35, and each time it comes back from the RSC looking like new after servicing, the love is renewed. When I mentioned that I need to decide who will inherit it someday (I have no kids), my 26-year-old niece who has seen it on my wrist all her life immediately threw her hat in the ring. That kid's got taste.

That's such a classic, so cool you still love it. Mind you I've owned my Sub for 35 years too.

I wish I could easily pull pictures from the Rolex sites over to show you. I'm currently in love with the TT Rose DJ Slate and choco with diamonds. The diamond desire is new too!

Classic for a reason.

Love this. Perfection.

I just bought a platinum Day Date 40 and just last night I was thinking to myself that I may just like my two tone GMT (the yellow gold with black dial one) even more.

I also love the VC 222! If you like that one, why not go for the Rolex OQ 19018!?

If DJs, especially 2-tones, and E-class Mercedes start looking good to you, you’ve hit middle age

I’m mid 40s and although I got a fluted blue dial, I think the best looking datejust is a two tone YG/SS with a champagne, or silver dial.

35 and I’m looking at YG DD and YG Daytonas.

I’m shocked they’re on my radar.

Rolex makes the best YG. The way it shines is perfection. DD40 or Daytona on Oysterflex golden dial. Ill take either.

I added my first PM (116508) for my 40th, and now at 42 have WG, YG, and plat. I still love SS, but it’s fun to add variety, and venture into models they don’t offer in SS.

To be fair YG is becoming more fashionable with the trendsetters again. Your possibly simply not a particularly fashionable person and this trend is just passing you by?

Gold and Silver have been a store of value for thousands of years. Bright colored objects have been known to have a positive effect on the human mind and are used as in jewelry and other objects is because of its beauty and relative rarity. Gold has many other positive attributes such as it doesnt corrode, it is anti-microbial and its strong electrical properties as well. I have been a big lover of gold and silver objects since I was in my buster browns.

The main reason why gold watches are associated with older people is because younger guys are still too poor to afford them and because some are too ignorant (dumb) to understand their relative value.

For some reason I read “my 26-year-old wife”
