Now that the 15500 is discontinued my insurance replacement policy appraised value on my 15500 can now be increased from the $22k MSRP to the $70k real world price. Yay.

It’s a major downside - while higher prices are nice most of us here aren’t sellers so we’re just burdened with higher carrying costs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A lot of threads Re: the 15500. Posting here in case.
Since now that it looks like a 15510 will be released in July, do we know when the 15500 will cease production? Curious about the timing especially since we saw some 26315s rolling in after the 26715 release.

I suspect the 15500 has already stopped production Vince. No way of confirming that, but it's just my gut feel... Am hoping we might see the 15510 being available before July but, as ever, lets wait and see. |

My understanding is the 15510 reference will only be used for the 50th anniversary year (as it has the anniversary rotor). From 2023, they will need to create a brand new reference for the ‘normal’, non-anniversary version of the 15510…my guess is that will be 15600, which would be consistent with the naming convention of the 15400 and 15500.

There’s another thread called “Replacement for 15500 seen in the flesh”, which should answer many of the questions and comments mentioned above. There are also some photos, so you can see the new 15510 for real.

Thank you. Sounds like the 15500s may continue to trickle in.

I believe AP owners might prefer the AP logo on the new reference. Makes the watch more unique considering it was a reference.

I’m assuming even changing one little detail (such as the rotor) would require a new reference to be created (E.g. 15600). My assumption is this logic will apply to all anniversary models across the AP range. As soon as the anniversary rotor is swapped out, brand new reference numbers will be needed for all models. My photos and details of the 15510 in the other thread were based on fact, whereas everything I’ve written in this post is just speculating what could happen. AP will keep us guessing, no doubt… |

My understanding from speaking to AP house is that the new models will remain post 2022, only without the 50th rotor, model numbers will remain the same with the same changes that were made to the dial and case, along with new movements in some of the references. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
