116613 (new submariner)
I've been on vacation and I was going through the price list and updating, and adding the new pages for the price list when I see this:
116613 oyster perpetual Submariner date, 0 40mm stainless case, preassure proof to 1000ft, special 18kt yellow gold time-lapse bezel, 31 jewel chronometer movement, synthetic sapphire crystal with special glide lock clasp and extension link oyster bracelet. 10,400.00 with eight diamonds set on dial and oyster bracelet 12,800.00 Wondering if they are going to port the blue creachrome bezel off of the WG model to this one? I Dunno if they are planning to still do the price increase... if you think about it you can get the SDDS for 9250.00 US SG sub for 10400. They will be pushing a lot of their high turn watches north or really close to 10,000.00 . Which is really out of Rolex's typical customer pricing. A lot of their competitors are really strong in that bracket. I think they will send a new updated book for the fall and the price of factory service will go up. |

SF is pretty strong at present along with Euro. USDollar is weak. Things not looking good for imported goods to US from Euro zone.

I read Cu88y just ordered one and paid 6470 pounds.
Is the price going to be so much cheaper in the USA?

Shrug. If I could have any current Rolex, it would be the WG and blue sub. I've had one on and it's indescribably good. |

Hi all!
I actually joined this forum just so that I can ask a Rolex question, and this is a perfect thread. I've been dreaming about TT Blue Submariner for the past 5+ years, ever since I got a real job. I'm at a point where I'm ready to buy one, and was happy to learn about the new "11" model introduced this year. My question though, will Rolex raise the price for the Submariner because of these changes (solid gold links etc). Best price I've been given right now is 10% off at MSRP of $9400. I was ready to pull the trigger, when I realized the watch they have at the local AD is a "16613" model. So what do you suggest I do? I'm not sure if I can justify another extra 1k on top of current price. I do have some idea what to expect of the new Submariner. I actually compared the color of the TT Submariner to the new "11" all gold version AD has. I like the blue color on the "old" Model better. The old one has a luxury Royal Blue tone to it, whereas new model has a more pure blue color, or Baby Blue like you guys call it here. However, it bugs me that the old model has the bracelet lock akin to a cheap Seiko. Absolutely no offense, but my Movado has the lock milled from a solid piece of metal. On the current Submariner it's stamped. The ceramic bazel is nice on the "11" model, on the "16" model I can tell it's metal and now I'm paranoid I will scratch it up. Finally, the new shape of the "11" model make the watch look bigger, whereas current one has more narrow body, hugging the dial. Help me out guys, I'm at a loss... ![]() |
