Independent Mont Blanc repairs?

Have a 10 year old or so Mont Blanc with the twist at the bottom to have the ink part come out (very technical terms I know!) that doesn’t work. Sent to Mont Blanc and they said the part is nla. Is there an independent repair shop or aftermarket parts manufacturers?

Parts of a 10 year old Montblanc piston filler that are no longer available? Do you know what model?

The MB Forum on FPN could speak to this question.

They will need to know the model and will likely know a source for parts and repair.

MB usually has good afterservice... if they admit can't fix, they didn't offer to changeover to a current equivalent?

No idea on ballpoint mechanisms, but for their FPs MB has been known to remanufacture new parts for old FPs long after (decades!) the original been sold. Some old pens comeback from service so renewed, only the old nib remains :)

Yes, good point. One of the cooler things about Montblanc. Reminds me of Patek.

My advice would also be to check with the MB forum on the FPN.

I have a 28 year old Meisterstuck Rollerball that I sent to Mont Blanc Dallas... Was very impressed with the service. Not only did they repair the issues with the pen but also sent another duplicate pen. Maybe because I've had it so long, I've had since new. The repairs were less than $200.00. This was about two years ago. I am surprised that they offered no alternative solutions to you.

That’s odd. Mont Blanc Dallas told me they had no pen repair program. I will inquire again. Thanks for bringing this up

I wish I could find an independant too. My rollerball starwalker cap is almost stripped when recapping the pen. I was hoping to find someone in the USA. Montblanc won't fix it, no parts available.

Here's one off hand. I can't attest to how good they do however here they are.

Aaron is really good but there's not much that really can be done for your pen. It's worth a call or email though. Note that what you have is also one of the more commonly faked Montblancs.

Good to know that he's there as Montblanc stores aren't really open around here currently.

I had an MB “repaired” at a boutique once. That’s in quotes because they actually REPLACED all of the resin parts.

Uh yeah that's pretty much standard practice unless you explicitly tell mb you don't want them to replace specific parts.

Finally got tired of this thing not working and called. They referred me to Steve at NW fine Jewelry. He told me $35-$75 to fix it but would need to see it first so I shipped it out. $49 including shipping and insurance back and it works and has a new ink cartridge in it. Great experience. steve at nw fine jewelers .com is his email if anyone needs anything similar repaired.
