From a technical perspective Lefty 126720VTNR

From a technical perspective, when Rolex moved the crown from right to left on the new model. Was it technically easier or harder to have the date wheel to the left side of the dial?

I can't work out if it was super easy and the movement was just put in backwards with an upside down date wheel or the whole movement had to be reworked to display the date on the right.

Honestly I cant work it out in the upside down world of lefty. Although I do find it an interesting piece.

It is the same movement, so my guess is they reworked the datewheel and of course the dial. Other items are probably flipped over.

Would not surprise me if it was over-engineered though. I can imagine the crystal gets a special part # as well.

What a year for Rolex, not only have they managed to introduce a new colour to an existing model again, but they have also managed to build it backwards and upside down.

All they did was reposition the feet on the dial, print a new date wheel…..rotate it 180 degrees and it’s done.
Not very technical IMHO
