It's mine!!!

In my excitement I didn't take pictures of it on my wrist once it had been fitted, and it's now gift wrapped. Oh well - here's another picture of it from Monday, imagine it with 2 links removed and that's basically it. It really is beautiful in real life.

I did take some photos of the Rolex Room for your viewing pleasure, while the bracelet was being adjusted and I was having a celebratory glass of water - I live on the edge me

Prestons Wilmslow were brilliant from start to finish - friendly, straightforward and down to earth, no games - I highly recommend them.

I am being disciplined now and it is tucked away for my birthday. Thank you SO much to everyone who contributed to the thread and helped me to get my dream watch, which I hope will see me out of this lifetime

Congratulations, it looks perfect on you! Are you sure you are going to keep it wrapped until your birthday?

Ha - that was the plan, but then the internet told me I ought to wind it once a month if not wearing to be safe (is this true?). So I've slipped it out of the packaging and thus can give a sneak peek:

Off to the safe tomorrow where my sticky paws can't get at it.

Wonderful! I would just start wearing it now. Life is too short not to wear a Rolex that was purchased to celebrate your life.

Hi Novartis!
So happy to hear such good news from you!
On your wrist it's PERFECT!
Great watch, gratch choice!
and please, listen to us, and wear your watch...

Today my son came here for lunch to celebrate his birthday,
I was thinking of you and we did a picture for you

(subliminal message... wear me...wear me...)

ciao!

Thank you! I LOVE that photo of your and your son's watches - I am very honoured that you thought of me and took the picture! (Stunning watches by the way!)

It's a weird thing about wearing it. At first I thought I was going to, life is short, why wait - and logically I agree with that. But... I sort of don't feel ready for it yet. Is that insane? I don't want it to be just another thing I buy for myself, but something I wear for the first time on my 40th. Maybe because I did that with my current watch which I got for my 25th birthday.

I fully accept I may change my mind in the next 13 months though

...and IIRC, couldn't the dial be changed to a pink dial? They'll keep the blue one, but when I took my DD in for service (18238), they gave me an iPad with pages of dials I could choose from?

I had thought about you today too!
Congratulations on the pick up.

You don't need to wind it every month. But if it was me - I would do it every quarter or so, just to keep the lubricants moving on the watch. I do that with the watches I am not wearing for any length of time.

Here is a picture of my last pick up in that same room in 2018.

Very possibly, I forgot to ask as I'd fallen in love with the blue since trying it on and it had become my first choice. Good to know there might be options for the future though if my tastes change!

Ooh stunning watch! I feel a kinship with you - the Prestons-Wilmslow-Rolex-Room Club As soon as I was alone in the room, I was leaping around taking photos like an excited tourist and posing with my arm in the mirror before I clocked the CCTV

Thanks for the advice on the winding - once a quarter will be much easier.

Yeah, so the "waiting until my 40th" lasted precisely 6 days before my willpower dissipated and I put the damn thing on @gnardex you are a wise man! (And everyone else who told me to just wear it).

Fortuitously, my husband got watch envy and ordered himself a Grand Seiko SBGA375 in the same dark blue colour. So we have decided to call these belated 10th wedding anniversary gifts (anniversary was 18 months ago, but who's counting) and so my anally retentive brain can justify wearing it straight away

Here it is, where it belongs.

Thanks to everyone again for your fabulous advice, encouragement and support I will be hanging around to lurk.

what a pleasure novartis!
very nice to hear you!
And happy to hear that you followed our suggestions!

Now Serious: that watch looks GREAT on you!
You have a wonderful arm, and that beautiful small watch
stand out on that noble thin wrist.
Moreover, the blue dial matches wonderfully with the blue sapphire ring.

All in all: perfect watch for a perfect arm. You couldn't choose better.

Enjoy Novartis!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

All of the photos you had posted previously didn't show your rings. And now that we can see the blue dial with your blue sapphire, I can say that it is a stunning combination!

Agree.... The blue looks really great with the ring.

Another thing.....its just getting into summer and you will get a chance to wear it and see it on your wrist. Less so in winter.

Remember to add it onto your house insurance.
