Sharing collection and how you got there

With all these threads about pricing, market crashing... I thought it would be great to get back to why we love watches in the first place. Just wanted to share my collection as it stands put together over the last 2+ years as well as a few reflections on how I got there. Would then love to hear how everyone got to where they are at.

Here is my journey:
- I actually started getting interested into watches with Omega 5 years back with an Aqua Terra which I wore daily for years. Ended up getting over it and traded it in for the iconic SpeedMaster latest model, absolutely no regrets on this
- I then got into Rolex through the DJ. I was really impressed by it and love it as a daily. As a I travel a lot I managed to get the BLNR which is also great. I originally thoughts I would get more Rolex but in the end the crazy market at the time and the fact that I enjoy more dressy watches made me walk away and move my interest elsewhere which I am actually very grateful for
- This made me develop a collection philosophy and I wanted to always have different brands and different complications / movements. This first led me to Moser Heritage which is a fantastic casual watch and then Patek, VC, Lange, Nomos
- Patek came next with the 5134g which is a 20 year old watch. It was important to be patient to find the right one in great condition but once I had it, wow... I really understood why Patek is Patek. The other great thing: nobody knows this well so flies totally under the radar. The 5227g was added afterwards because why not? Also an incredible wear
- By then, I wanted to add a Day Date complication and after much research I settled on the VC4400e. Not many around, works with a suit or polo and jeans. A great all rounder
- Nomos got added along the way (can't remember exactly when) as a super casual and fun watch that I don't have to worry about in any circumstances

What is your collection like? What was your journey to get there?

I no longer share watch acquisitions or show collection. I do show pics of watches I have previously shown, but not showing anything new for two reasons:
1. Security - first rule is not to tell the scumbags what you have so they don’t try to figure out who you are and where you live. Paul Thorpe did a video on this today.
2. Some on here are jealous and love to call the AD they think I might have purchased it from and scream, “… but you said IIIIII was next, whaaaaa … (sniffle) you promised ME that I would get the next <insert model>!”

That said, I love your collection. God bless. Be safe.

Great pics.

I have no real "collection" to share. My Tudor Submariner is my "go to" watch. My Casio Illuminator is the around the house watch and the Citizen Eco-Drive is my dress watch. I'm not in to collecting per se. Just love looking at others.

Most of my collection have all come from my local small Town AD.
I first walked into their dealership around 13 years ago and walked out with the pre ceramic steel Daytona.
I continued to buy 2-3 watches a year from them some of which I flipped( usually at a loss in those days) when I got bored of them or fell out of love with.
I picked a couple up at airports including the Hulk , when I bought it at Dubai airport the SA then went under the counter and put another one on display .

I have owned just about every 'Hot' model and have many regrets that I never kept them all as the value of them these days would have been enough for me to retire
I still have over 20 Rolex and a few other brands but this photo contains most of my Rolex but I have never been able to get a photo of them all together as I live in two different countries
