Yep...the onion was great, but I slept badly afterwards. I always do when I eat red meat. I think I'm rapidly approaching that point in my life where I might put all red meat on the back burner.

I understand what you mean about red meat. It has not been tasting to good for about a half of a year now(once in awhile it tastes good like burgers on a grill). I'm borderline anemic so I'm going to have to take supplements or research other alternatives. I know in the past when I was anemic I took Blackstrap Molasses!!!

I might just lay some more turf over the turf I've just laid!!!!!!!!!!!

I think really that I'll wait for it to sprout and then see how uneven it looks. Once it's had a couple of light mows over the next 8 weeks, I'll take remediation measures if it's awful.

Tommorrow I'm going to rake, scarify the dead moss and weeds out of the lawn and lay a fertiziling compost and a load more grass seed on the bare parts.

I'm starting to sound like I know what I'm doing.

Cream of Wheate or Malt o Meal has a lot of iron for non-meat dishes. But nothing is as soluable as red meat. Liver is best.

As I'm always conscious of my iron levels (I've been taking iron for about 15 years), I was intrigued about the Blackstrap Molasses. Haven't eaten any since I was a teenager! Naturally, I checked out a few articles, and found this piece to be particularly interesting and might start eating some to help with my Osteoporosis problem!


It’s important to note that while the iron content of blackstrap molasses is relatively high, calcium will interfere with its absorption. Therefore, using the molasses to increase iron levels isn’t nutritionally sound. On the other hand, using the molasses to increase calcium and magnesium levels makes more sense.

I LOVE liver! Surprisingly, my whole family is crazy about liver....all my siblings and all my kids! My 5 year old granddaughter chooses liver when we go out to a restaurant to eat!

Mmmm. The only liver I eat is chicken liver. Cook slow in real butter, add fresh ground pepper and some salt. Add a generous dash of Cognac and allow for some evaporation. Add fresh cream to 'montage' a sauce.

Prepare some sirloin stakes to your liking (rare, medium, well done) and pour the chicken livers and sauce over them. Serve with a wine that is able to compete with the sauce

Ed, I just finished watching "Eugene Onegin" (filmed at the Met) last night. Oh my gosh - I wish I had been able to see it live. Heck, that would have required me to possess more than a passing cognizance of opera two years ago.

I'm going to send the kids out with hubby, invite a couple of girlfriends over, and watch it again with some dessert and a bottle of wine.

Do you get the live HD performances in your area? There are some really good ones coming up next season.
