My 16700 GMT is back from RSC Dallas
All went according to my expectations after Rolex in Dallas serviced my 16700 GMT, a late model ‘96 GMT Master with a tritium dial that I purchased second hand from HQ Milton and intended as my daily. As most pieces on sale that I have seen from second hand dealers this watch had no known or verifiable service history. From the looks of the thick case and bracelet this watch was no safe queen but had been polished lightly at some point and had scatches and minor nicks. After calling RSC in Dallas and confirming with customer service that they would replace and return the original bezel insert to me, on May 4 I dropped the watch at my local Rolex AD. A week later I approved the service. On July 3 my AD delivered the watch to me. The warranty card is dated June 22 so Rolex took less than 8 weeks for the full service. Rolex did a complete overhaul of the movement, polished the case and bracelet, and installed both a new crown (the old one was battered) and a new Pepsi bezel insert. Rolex respected my request to return to me the original faded bezel insert. Before service, the watch had been running at +5-6 s/day even after resting crown down. Rolex did a fine job regulating the movement. It’s now running at 0 to +1 s/day when worn all day and left resting dial up at bedtime. What’s more I received a 2 year international warranty card and a Rolex branded green travel pouch. Really happy with the results. Would send a new or neo vintage piece like this GMT to Rolex again, but not vintage Rolex, especially unpolished pieces.

Looks great! For pieces like that I prefer Rolliworks over RSC just heard too many horror stories with vintage pieces to take the plunge, glad it worked out for you.
