Spider dials: Limited to certain models and time frames?

Were the imperfected glossy dials released only for certain models during a certain time frame?

I read an article that seemed to attribute the spider dials specifically to certain 80’s releases, notably the Sub.

Yet, I recently noticed a dealer who is advertising a 14060, circa 1997, with a spider dial. This contradicts what I read, in terms of release year.

I’m interested in the watch, but the contradiction made me raise an eyebrow.

Which models can result with spider dials, and, more importantly, specifically in what years were they released?

All info appreciated.

My 2 cents…
The lacquer/enamel coating processes that created spider dials and cracked Stella dials and Patrizzi dials etc were accidental for early models and later corrected so I would think a 1997 model spider dial would be odd.
Perhaps it’s an original dial that was added to the 1997 14060, but I would look deeper and ask the seller detailed questions if original from Rolex matters to you on the watch.
Here’s a couple of old conversations from here about them…

How about some photos showing the spidering. I have seen that term used to refer to a various different effects.
