Do you live in New Orleans, or are you just visiting? If you reside there, I would encourage you to look at Lee Michael’s. They carry a lot of different watch brands, including Rolex. They also sell fine jewelry which can be a convenient way to get a purchase history going (gifts for your significant other). It’s a great family owned business too.

Cheers.

Adlers Jewelers on Canal Street has been around for a long time, and is a store family members of mine worked at for many years. They are a Rolex AD as well.

As someone who lives here, if you’re headed downtown New Orleans I’d be thinking more Glock than Rolex. Sad thing is I’m really not joking. I own an insurance agency and the amount of cars broken into is staggering. They have run off all law enforcement. Very sad to see what a few politicians can do to our cities….

I second Adlers as well but A Rolex wont be happening there (as most all ADs these days)

Agreed. I know the family and that location very well. They are great people, but they are in the same boat, if not worse, than other ADs right now.

Adlers is very nice and I will add Valobra Jewelry at 333 Royal St NOLA. Former FP Journe AD plus lots of preowned Rolex, Patek, Breguet and other fine makers.

Yeah New Orleans is getting pretty bad these days. I actually live in the city, not the Northshore, Jefferson Parish, etc.

The car break in is crazy, and police response in general is beyond maddening. Sometime they won't show up unless somebody is physically hurt. I don't even call the cops anymore unless I 100% need the report.

I even hear stories private security getting robbed themselves lol (while guarding the neighborhood/resident home.)

Do any work with out-of-towners? I'm going in August for a few days.

You cancelled your trip based on what someone said on an Internet forum?

In this regard, you'd be a fool not to.

I left New Orleans 22 years ago because the crime and the weather were so bad.

Neither has gotten better, as those who live there attest.

I was there for 5 days in June and while not spectacular, the accommodations where I stayed in the Garden District were comfortable, several nice restaurant experiences as well as both the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and New Orleans Museum of Art were very pleasant. I won’t rush to go back the way I felt about Santa Fe New Mexico, my previous years trip, but it was an interesting experience for a solo traveler.

I’ve worn my watches just fine around New Orleans, but I definitely wouldn’t wear a flashy piece if I was going to be walking a lot or hitting up Bourbon Street. Usually it’s a city that I have really bad luck visiting in general. Something always seems to go wrong when I go. Car getting booted, friends arguing, etc…. However, I do go back a time or two a year!

I’m going this weekend and think I’ll just wear my Explorer 1 or BB58 as I’m a little nervous to break out my new Sub LV.

I can’t attest to Adlers, but I can attest to Lee Michaels in general to say that you probably aren’t going to get a piece from them without a relationship—although I believe they are a great AD worth having a relationship with.

Precisely and the older I got the worse it affected me.

I'd lived in New Mexico years ago and always wanted to return.

One day one of my fellow grad students called me and asked if I'd be interested in working in Albuquerque.

I immediately said yes, and gave a two weeks' notice the next day.

We have a crime problem here, too, but at least the weather is almost always perfect, or nearly so, in my humble judgement.

Lee Michaels might work with you if you’re up front about bundling with some pricey jewelry that would cover the profit they could have made by selling on the gray market. Adler’s likes to say that purchase history isn’t as important as you’d think to getting the sought after pieces but it most definitely is. I would avoid Aucoin Hart altogether.

Forget about watches in Nola and just enjoy the amazing food and drinks.
