Sad Day - Which one to keep? Daytona or Bluesy

Afternoon all!

Unfortunately due to some changing personal circumstances I may be forced to get rid of one of my watches and regrettably I love both and cannot decide which to keep, the bluesy is perfect and the Daytona is timelessly classy.

So I know people say pick the one you like and don't worry about future investment but for me I cannot pick as both are my favourite, therefore if you had to keep one which would it be?

Bluesy - 126613LB
Daytona diamond dial set - 116503

Thanks all look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts.

Which one do you wear the most, regardless liking both equally?

I personally would keep the bluesy even though I prefer the Daytona as a model. I could not deal with the diamonds markers.

That's the problem you see, with my work usually I'm in a smart wear a shirt trousers or suit etc and the bluesy I found was too flashy let's say, so the Daytona just sits perfect.

Most other times, Bluesy if casual wear but then again the Daytona rocks any outfit.

Without a doubt, I do think the Bluesy is iconic and stands out the most, plus notably heavier on the wrist but for this purpose I'm going to gauge whichever will hold value or increase in value as you never know when your circumstances may change, like the position I am in now, it's good to know a watch that you have can bring you out of your situation if that makes sense!

Diamond dial is beautiful I'm not going to lie haha, it sits perfectly. Not a fan of diamond bezels but 8 small diamonds on the dials sits rather nicely.

Cheers man!

It seems like you want to keep the Daytona.

Tough choice, but I would keep the Daytona. I like the way it fits on the wrist, very similar to my YM 40. From a comfort standpoint, Daytona for sure.
Also, if your situation changes, it will be easier to replace the Bluesy for sure.

Sell them both and buy a platinum Timex with a unobtanium bezel.

I agreed with GST15. The Daytona's case shape sits makes it wear so seamlessly.. I think it makes it a better daily-wearer. Happy to hear you're wearing it often already and it's not just sitting in a safe.

For me it would be the blue Sub if it has to be one of the two. I don’t like Daytonas period. And certainly nothing with diamonds.
I personally would sell both and get a nice Speedmaster and a steel five digit Sub or Sea Dweller and you may still have some cash left over for a nice dress watch or Pilot watch or whatever else would rock your boat.

I want to keep both haha but cannot! Seems like most are going for the Daytona and no to the Timex but it's a nice suggestion, thanks!

Yeah the bluesy is a bit special as it was my first ever Rolex but the Daytona is lovely honestly! Appreciate the suggestion but Sea Dweller is too chunky for my liking! Will consider other options I suppose but mainly my purpose of this thread is to keep the one with the best investment prospects as I love both watches.

Do you need a chronograph or a dive watch?

Having owned both, I can say I've purchased the Submariner 4 times and Daytona only once. I currently have 2 Submariners (SS Black and Bluesy) and no Daytona. I felt the Submariner was a better watch for my lifestyle and I like the date. I'll also add that I've purchased the Bluesy on three separate occasions. I sold the previous Bluesy' s twice due to life circumstances out of my control, not because I didn't love it which is why I currently own it again!

I would keep the Daytona and then add the Sub at a later date when things get better!

Shouldn't this be in the for-sale section? It's simply a thinly veiled "for sale" post.

No clearly I'm not attempting to sell anything to anyone here, I already have a buyer privately purely looking for opinions.

If money matters, I’d sell the one you will get the most money for.

I'd keep the Daytona. Then again I'd not have gotten the Bluesy in the first place.

I think the Submariner would be easier to re-aquire later on.

The Bluesy is one of the most beautiful Rolex models ever made. Sporty, classy, and definitely a keeper.

Lol. Just like almost everyone else, my guess is neither.

OP, I would keep the Daytona. Never been a fan of the bluesy.
