OK I understand. So to counter the atrocious design flaw of the top heaviness and case back designed for memory foam wrists one must merely strap that baby down tight, just before blood circulation is stopped?

what flaw? there is no flaw! the design of the case back is to enable the watch to go 4000 feet under the sea, which is one of the design goal of the sea dweller model. this is my favorite daily wearer out of my collection and i feel very comfortable wearing it, no problem at all. Go for the submariner if one is not strong enough to wear a bigger watch with deep diving capability for the owner to worship. the SD43 is just not for the weak, no kidding.

I don’t have a horse in the race, as I find both the Sub and the SD43 to be a bit large for most of the people who wear them, but since the trash-talk is flowing freely, I will point out that, judging by that picture anyway, that SD43 doesn’t fit your wrist—the lug-width is way too large and the case doesn’t follow the contour of your wrist. Not helping your cause, man.

I’m sure you’d consider 36mm too small. Takes all kinds. But I feel like it’s tougher to make the argument for a huge watch when this is your evidence.

I get that you post because some criticize your watch…if you enjoy it and like it, great. Be more secure in your choices…the “ tough guy macho act” is unimpressive and to use use your own words, weak.

I vote 41 for a couple of reasons - It was too close to the 43 when I had one, both have cyclops and between the 2 the 41 wore better. So I ended up getting rid of the 43 and re-acquiring a 2nd gen Deep Sea - now you got some difference going on...

You can possibly keep both if you like diver watch and depending on what you have in your collection.

I personally wouldn’t get both. Too many other wonderful watches out there to choose from.

I am trying to go for a varied collection to be honest, not dive-centric. So I suppose that lends more credence to having one leave the collection.
Nice collection

I’d be inclined to move one of the Submariners as opposed to the Seadweller.

No overlap. You have an all green Sub. You could get the same model LN Sub and no overlap. The SD43 is outstanding, I’ve owned mine since they came out in 2017. Most worn watch I have.

Depends on your definition of "overlap".

Why do you consider two of the same models but different colors not an overlap?

One can build a collection out of the divers family Rolex makes. So no, to me they don’t overlap as they are completely different.

I have both and the DSSD James Cameron. For me, they are different enough.

Because of the different colors.

I have both the sd43 and the sd4k (116600) and don’t feel like they overlap. Both great pieces that wear/look different.

Sorry, had to send the brief message earlier…

The different colors to me make the watch suitable for different situations, outfits, etc. For example, you could wear either with a suit. But to me the LN would be the better choice, black is more dressy. Or you could wear both to the country club, or any casual event, but to me the LV is perfect for the CC environment or a more casual one. Maybe saying there’s “no overlap” isn’t exactly right, maybe better to say “there’s plenty of room for both”.

I let my SD43 in stainless go. I still have my SD43 18K/SS. Also the Deep Sea and Submariner Date.
