rolex market price
i'm watching all these rolex related youtube videos and they are talking about how much price of rolex has gone down, how much it was at before blah blah blah.
How do they know these numbers? is there a chart that shows Sold price of each rolex model over the years? |

It's not really rocket science. Regardless of what the final sale price is/was, in reality you can simply monitor and look at the asking prices. (yes, yes, we all know its just asking prices and don't reflect sales). But in general asking prices of Rolex models now was lower than they were 6 months ago so its pretty easy determine that overall the market has dropped.
As for previous year data, similar thing. Even this forum (search button) and members who have been here for a while can give you a good indication of the general ups and downs of values. |

Nobody knows these numbers and those youtubers just want your like on their videos. The price of anything is what people are willing to pay for it. .

Any watch’s price will be what someone is willing to pay…..everyone is now waiting to see where that lands (bottoms out)

Some you tubers are even saying the market has appeared to be stabilizing. Which again take that with a grain of salt they are also trying to sell their inventory.

Latest CRM video says they think prices will drop until under msrp is typical again for common models.
Funny email from a vintage dealer: "People dumping their modern watches combined with tons of Rolex watches reaching retailers leads me to believe that prices will decline on the secondary market even farther for modern Rolex watches." Price declines might be slowing as people are buying on the way down thinking this is a good time to jump in. While the biggest declines have been in the hype models, I see price declines in other brands, indies and vintage Rolex too, just at a slower rate. When the dealers aren't buying anything, the liquidity is gone and everything takes a hit. I figure it'll take another quarter before the average joe figures out that they can't profit from anything they buy at the AD and then another quarter after that before the brands realize they need to slow production which they cranked to 11 last year. Things might flatten a bit for holiday but I think things will keep dropping slowly from here into next year. What will also be interesting is what happens to hype watches that people ordered 6 months ago and won't be delivered till next year. Will they still want them if there's no profit? Will we get a flood of Mings and Czapeks in the market? Will some of the indies with orders into 2024 have to raise prices on existing depositors due to inflation? Will they cancel orders? Will buyers walk? Plenty of crazy left in the market. |

I've seen a lot of vintage watches drop in price on Chrono24 already. Many of them aren't moving. The only area where it won't be affected would probably be the top end vintage like the half million vintage Pateks. |

i was only curious if there is some sort of chart that shows the sold prices but i guess there isnt.
I would love to buy the "hype" rolexes like the GMT2 HULK, or the Batman at some point. Not in hurry though since i recently bought a Sub 16610 for around $13k ![]() What a perfect timing FML. Will Batman or Hulk ever go below or close to MSRP? |
